I work in a saddlery sometimes and my year old spaniel comes with me. Obviously it is fairly boring for her so i usually take a raw hide chew for her. This keeps her busy for a good length of time but after a while she starts to demolish it and i end up taking bits away constantly cos she is trying to eat them.
I just wondered if there are any other treats that last a long time that i wouldnt have to worry about her getting bits stuck in her throat.
Are Jumbones any good?

Maybe try using a Kong? I was sceptical at first until I tried one for Flick, but they can provide hours of entertainment

Stuff them with whatever you can think of - there are also suggestions on the Kong website for stuffings

Thanks, she has got a kong which i stuff when i leave her at home. Hadnt thought about taking it to work, thats a good idea.

I generally take a handful of dinner out, soak it, mix it with pate, cheese, peanut butter, ham whatever takes my fancy or is in my mums fridge at the time.

Freeze it! (A must for long lasting fun!) and then following day, let the enjoyment commence!

Hen - Otto is super dog though, surely you must have figured this by now?!

He bloody is! It doesn't matter how much I cram in - I can microwave the cheese so every nook and cranny is filled and freeze it so it is rock hard, yet Otto still polishes it off within minutes!

Slightly better than the seconds it takes him to polish anything else off!

We bought him a huge bone once, within seconds the nobbly bits at the end had been crunched up and I had to take it off him as, he was biting such big bits off, he was scaring me!

You'd think that he was a really chewy destructive dog, but he chews nothing that he isn't supposed to, and apart from pulling their feet off, all his toys are intact!

Strange creature!

hehe,

ye the springers in our house love chewing Beau's bones, and beau loves destroying their teddies

however neither of them can polish out a kong (thats my minging job 2 days after I find where they have hidden it! grr)

Otto must be related to an anteater in that case, his Kongs are squeaky clean once he's done with them

Apart from the time it rolled under the cooker and I didn't notice, until a few weeks later Otto was frantically digging, so I fished it out and it was green
