Idiot alert! I am so stupid!!!!

I actually cannot believe how stupid I am. You will understand in a minute!

I was riding BuffyPony in the indoor arena and she was going well and schooling so much better then yesterday. I asked for canter and throught "Oh I have a bit of a breeze on my head my hair is going everywhere!" (You have probibily already guessed what I did but nope it didn't register with me...)

I then thought my lower leg was slipping forward so I stopped to look in a mirror. I didn't put my bloody hat on did it?!!!!!!! I had to even pat my head because I couldn't believe my stupidity and I didn't believe the mirror. I was mortified.. so we walked around and then I got off..

Good job my pony is well behaved eh?

ive done this so many times when i wear a baseball cap on the yard, because i have something on my head and it has a peak, it doesnt occur to me its not my riding hat till someone points it out to me on the gallops!!

I was out hacking one day last summer when I looked down and noticed that I had only actually managed to put ONE of my half chaps on

I nearly did the same tonight. I had cap on and it was only that I saw my hat on the side that I realised I wasn't wearing it. Luckily I hadn't got on

Not the first time either, got told off once by YO I had been riding for nearly an hour before she told me. If I did it at this yard I would get kicked off

its so easy to just slip into a routine, but forget (vital) little things. i have done all of the above at least once. its a little embarasing when a car pulls over to tell you you have only got one chap on - i insisted it was fashion -

Haha lucky that you were in the school! when hacking the crazy one I did have a hat on, but after being thrown off him and onto the rather hard road I began to wonder why I was in one place and my hat was in another, I realised that being a silly bugger I hadn't fastened the strap ooopsie!

Today i nirly got on without his bridle?! I dont quite know how but i did then i forgot I had my wellies on, nirly got on, had my foot in the stirrup...'oh cr@p I have my wellies on!' went to go and change them! Not a good day for me

I'd just had Kane rebacked and was starting to hack him out myself, got BP on, gloves, hi vis...was in the saddle and my friend asked if I was missing something..I said no cos I didn't want to ride with a whip, she said nope that's not what I meant..your hat??? Considering the first time I tried to ride him he'd thrown me into a stone wall you'd have thought I'd be making damn sure I was protected fully!!!
