will you tell me what you think of his confo?

He is a 4 year old ISH. Sorry about the angle of the photo, was trying to upload the other one but computer being a pain! Oh, and please ignore the martingale, his shoulder is not that upright :P

He's hideous. Clearly only got 2 legs. I'll take him off your hands. Will pay postage.

Joking, he's YUMMY! Looks lovely put together from what I can see!

I am no expert but I would say he has quite an upright shoulder and no sign of any wither definition allthough hard to tell with tack on. Looks a touch croup high, but muscle def and proportion look nice for his age. I personally love him, do like a good coloured on a wednesday morning :D

Looks to have slightly upright rear pasterns and possible slighlty boxy feet on the rear? although could just be the photo and I'm no expert!, angle of his shoulder from his front hooves up through his his forelegs looks pretty good I'd say, all in all a nice horse!, suppose from the photo he'll look croup high but you have to consider his age and lack of muscle, so all this will build up and he'll have more upfront with age and work.

I'd say he looks a well proportioned horse, nothing obvious anyway.

lol flamehead! :)

Thanks Indiapony, dont think his shoulder is too upright just the angle of the martingale strap? I think he is scrummy too :D (apart from those white legs...)

Thanks Sterroa, I hope to event him (if flamehead hasnt kidnapped him yet :p) next year and do some working hunters :)

Kenzo - its the croup high Im worrying about, it is only slight, but he is 17hh already...
I think its the particular farrier with his feet, when he gets our farrier he should improve :)

anymore opinions? :)

I think you're right about the martingale strap, my untrained eye is not very good at these things either!! :D My mare is a bundle of conformation errors but I just dont know theyre there!! :D
He is a little gem though, for sale??? :)

Blimey! 17hh already! :D He will need a very big trailer me thinks! Mine seems to have stopped growing at 17.1hh but he is only 5 and a very slow maturing breed so I am wondering if he will grow much more!

lol rowena! thanks, am hoping once the back end catches up with the front end he will be nice :D
Hopefully he wont grow too much more - pretty well developed for a 4 year old imo :)

Bailbee - I hope he dosent grow too much more! I already need a huge mounting block to get on :p

Thanks dfn :)
the short legs - would they appear short because he is so deep, or are they just short? Only asking as he is 17h :p
thanks :)

No, he hasn't really got 'short legs'. :p
Their short compared with his back ones, they could be abit longer to balance his huge amount of body. If they were longer, he wouldn't of been as heavy on the forehand.

...looks just as he should at 4 :)

But why the flash and martingale already ?

P.s. "he looks lame" ...my vets favourite phrase ...lol

The martingale is there "in case" of a 4 year old moment!!

The flash is loose, and only there to help prevent any "issues" with braking! I dont normally ride in a flash.

Um, what do you mean he "looks lame"?

Re. Lame ...sorry, was just kidding ...the phrase comes naturally to my vet - just like breathing.

Re. Flash and martingale ...my old trainers always told me best to start without as both can reenforce bad manners rather than cure ;) as an example, they always used to say that a martingale often confirms tossing of the head rather than discourage. Interesting eh ?

lol, ok :)

I wouldnt normally ride in a flash, I think they can create problems too, but I can assure you it is fitted correctly :)

As for the martingale, I only wear it if horse needs it when older - I showjumped and evented my old horse without one. But on a young horse, I would rather it be there if I need it :)
