If you could take your pick of who to train with....who would it be?

Eventing peeps only !!

If you were to choose one person to go and work for and train with, and take your horse there,who would it be?

I think for me it would be Daisy Dick, but dont know much about her training, and she has no facilities.

Ken Clawson? a top trainer, but costs a fortune to stay at his place...

Obv. Yogi B would be fantastic- but would be most unavailable to train someone every week who is not on a UK team!

2,sarah cohen because she has lots of interesting bloodlines and so you could also see the breeding side of things
3,lucinder green or mary king because i think you would learn so many thing from them

in fact i'd probably want them in reverse order with mary or lucinder first .
i told you it was hard and i've left off i don't know how many.
 
Not that I'm technically and eventing person, but definately Lucinda Green, Pat Burgess, or Yogi.
I thought Yogi was a really nice person with good ideas and good communication skills, which would be useful in a trainer! Plus I've been to Lucinda and Pat lessons (to watch) and thought they were fantastic.
 
Kenneth Clawson definitely, to give me confidence and make me technically more correct.

William Fox-Pitt, because I'd love to see him ride mine and inspire me to ride better.

Mary King, because of the rapport she has with her horses and her quiet, effective methods.
 
Umm well, I think.......

Conrad Schumacher (sp?) because he is a legend! I have been lucky enough to train with one of his pupils so it was as good as....

Ive trained with Yogi in the past - but would love to continue! and may see if I can get some more regular training from him over the winter.

Mark Philips, Ken Clawson or Derek Ricketts
 
Mark Philips - he has good results with teams and got them winning when before they were also rans. Not sure just an eventer is a good idea, I'm assuming money is no object, I would want the best dressage, SJ, XC help you could get and IMO an eventer isn't the best person to go to get help on SJ or dressage. I already have lessons with the lady that trains the fredericks in SJ for example. And I def. wouldn't go to Mary King for SJ lessons.

So for XC an eventer, everything else go to a specialist
 
Chiristopher Bartle, i had a talk from him somewhere and he was really good (even if he trains the germans) and Andrew Hoy as i love his XC riding

Ken Clawson, had one lesson it was fantastic, and he's a really nice friendly guy.
For dressage in fact I'd love to have a go with Sylvia Loch.
 
Lucinda or Mary King purely because they were my childhood hero.! Whoever said Chris Bartle, you can take your horse to YRC for a private lesson with him and it's not too expensive either!
 
Ken Clawson as Tracey Robinson is also based there! Mark Phillips is suppposed to be excellent.

WFP young riders (Harry Meade was one) always do pretty well as I guess they get to ride so many young horses.

Some who are excellent at bringing on young horses have dragon reputations like Angela Tucker!
 
Yogi for his sheer brilliance and ability to inspire and fill with confidence- I jumped some of the biggest xc fences I've ever seen in a Yogi clinic, believing that if he thought we were up to it, we must be!!
Mark Phillips is fab for sj, he sticks with his principals and gets the best out of everyone.
For dressage I shall stick with my little-known trainer- Andrew Murphy, i've never found a more natural teacher and he also gtets inside the horses head.

If they could teach then I'd pick Mark Todd (although he has improved but I can tell you, he used to be cr*p!!) or Daisy Dick. If I could take my horse anywhere then it would be to Waresley Park stud with the British team trainers

I haven't had a lesson for such a long time.. that i'm actually quite worried about the thought of someone telling me what to do

When i was 17 i spent a month with Tony Newbury (SJing) and learnt alot!!!

Never had a dressage lesson, so don't know who is good to go to for that.. but i'm thinking Bettina Hoy would probably be the best!!! better than a pure dressage person, as she gets the best out of fit TBs, not drilled WBs.

not sure if you were implying that Angela was a bit scary but i was based with her for a year and have to say you really wouldnt meet a nicer person! even when my horse was being less than helpful she never even came close to looking like losing her temper with either me or the horse! i would defo recommend her...and she really is amazing with youngsters!
 
Anky Van Grunsven because even though I hate dressage, I am in awe when I watch her! I think she'd probably be the only one who could make me love stress-age!

William Fox Pitt because he rides so well cross country.

Tim Stockdale or one of the Whitakers because I think they'd be pretty mean (well, we all know Tim can be!) so would make me ride really well!!
 
I'd definatley like to train with a german dressage coach, so I might finally be able to do sitting trot!!
On this side of the pond Dot willis ( Ginny lengs trainer) Would be great, I think Ginny was just amazing and her and Dot complete perfectionists!
 
Not that I event, not sure I ever will but know enough people who do it though.

Would probably be Mary King, Lucinda Green or Mark Phillips.

Am lucky in some respects though that my instructors use examples from their regular lessons with MK & LG so I kinda get it (in a way - am I making sense?)

Oh and to be able to have some more lessons with the guy I used to work with. His results this season (although not at CCI level just yet) have been rather good.

Oh and Boss - I know of Andrew, he does the odd clinic at my yard
 
I have no doubt that she is fantastic poddington pea but when I was at the Roy Ag Coll I went to meet her,with the view of keeping my horse with her for a year, and I was petrified of her and did not click with the woman at all!
With hindsight I shouldv'e have been braver and forced myself!

Ok here is my pick guys as LEC says that Tracie is with Ken!

Would like to be based with Ken Clawson as Tracie Robinson is there as well- and then try and do monthly's with Yogi- perfect! mmm I can only dream:)
 
yogi or lucinda as i have had 2 lessons off Lucinda before and i learnt so much in 4 hours that i think she could do wonders if i was to have a series of lessons with her!

for SJ one of thw whits or tim stockdale or ludger beerbaum (sp?) he has such cass
 
Yogi or Lucinda are the obvious choice for me.

I think Sarah Cohen is one of the best young riders around though - watched her riding a really difficult 4 year-old beautifully last year.

Actually I think the best lesson I have ever had was a Lorna Clark XC clinic - she is very inspiring (just kick on...).
 
I have been lucky enough to have alot of lessons with alot of top trainers, but none beat my dressage trainer, karen edwards-wilson, and jump trainers amanda mcglynn and ian wills, they are all fantastic!

Lucinda green- not for the faint hearted! was walking over fences to start with- and not 2ft logs either! but otherwise, amazing!

Yogi- the man is a genius, but so expensive/hard to get hold of etc etc

Richard davison- it was worth it just to see his amazing set up!! Not the most inspirational lesson i have had- very much worked on the basics-which i do like when i try a new trainer, but hunky was quite established in his basic way of going- he did say that he would take me on as a pupil on a regular basis but it was too far.

David trott (brit dressage chef de quip) is fantastic, local to me so not too difficult to get a lesson with.

Judy harvey- again really good.

Nigel taylor- scarey man!

Tim stockdale-very scarey, doesnt suffer fools gladley!

But the best person i can recomend, on the dressage sides of things is Gareth Hughes, he is absaloutly fantastic, he got to the bottom of all my faults straight away and had really effective and different methods of sorting them out.

Have a lesson booked with robbie carpenter next week (emile faurie's partner) so that should be interesting too!

Edited to say- i would love a dressage lesson with Bert Ruten and to try a jump lesson with ken clawson.
