or saw my topic the other day about my foal being delivered and the idea of him being alone until my loan pony arrived a couple of days later, well it hasn't been resolved and now I've got the opposite bl**dy problem!

Loan pony can be returned tomorrow, foal can't come till next week.

Would you be more comfortable having the older pony alone for a couple of days or would you continue to wait until they could arrive the same day?

I'm sure some of you will think it's out of the question but he's been alone before and been fine and who knows how long it could be before I manage to get 2 people leading very busy lives coming from opposite ends of Wales to deliver on the same day?

I thought perhaps it gives one a chance to settle before adding another to the mix but I don't know... Opinions?

I wouldn't worry about the older pony being on their own at all. It's good for them to be used to being alone. With the foal while you want company for it obviously, you also want it to learn to be alone too. Makes life a lot easier when you want to take one or the other places etc.

Yes I think it's ideal that the loan pony has a few days to suss the new enviroment before the weanling arrives.

Far better to get the oldie settled in the new environment and then introduce the foal.

I would think the older pony would be ok for a few days alone.
It mature and tame!

Not like a anxious freshly weaned foal in a new home.
