If you where to get another dog?

I will be getting a lovely whippet boy in 10 days time :D :D :D I've always wanted one but any skinny dog would do really. I think a retired racing greyhound may be in the pipline in a few years time......

I dont think i'd ever be without a basenji now, i love them. I wouldnt buy a new one in unless it was related to my girl (breeders are doing a repeat mating this year...hmmm...!!) but i hope to breed my own little baby :D

I dont think I'd be without a husky now, though I'll have a puppy next time - they're too special needs to begin with without having to undo six months of anarchic free will on top. :o

Having two at the same time would be a logistical nightmare, though, so when we move next year I'll be looking at similar-sized breeds capable of pulling in harness but human-centric enough to be let off lead. I'm halfway convinced on a GSD but OH doesn't like them.

Always has and will be a German Shepherd, ideally 4-12 months old, would look at rescue if there was a youngster who had what I was looking for but tend to prefer a pedigree I can look at and research and know what was in the lines, would not discount importing the right dog but would prefer to get one from home.

My next dog will be either pure working lines or a mix of working/show lines. Would be nice if I could exhibit in the breed ring but not essential, my next dog will be for trialling.

There is a working stud in England and a showline stud who's progeny I shall be keeping a very close eye on :p

I would love a dark sable/black/bicolour! Picky picky :p

German Shepherd or a Golden Retriever..
Preferably a rescue, and in an ideal world I'd have the time and money to own and work with an older (say 4-7 y/o) unwanted rescue dog with issues.
Saying that I've had a thing about Northern Inuits lately too I think they're just so beautiful!

I do like LH Weimers. I wouldn't have 2 at once though, may just be a coincidence but all Hermans littermates who are in a multidog household are little ****heads, to be frank. Even though they are, to all intents and purposes the same dog, the long haired just seem to be a bit more approachable and ready to play.

Have a soft spot for damnations and greyhounds are growing on me. I adore the look of Dax and Cyrus' pack, but couldn't cope with a husky/mal in a gadgillion years.

And despite not being a fan of small dogs (apologies, I term anything shorter than a cocker, small...) there are times when Herman insists he needs an extra 10 minutes run when it's freezing and pissing it down when I do yearn for a small dog, for whom an hours walk is a once a week affair and not a daily requirement for peace. Yes, I am a lazy cow.

How endless is this list?!

My OH wants GSD's or malamois (sorry spelling?!) so after our euromillions win we will have lots of land for them to be stuiably kennelled...

I would love a Boxer again as I had one stolen a few years ago and never found him :(

And always room for more spangles, a fox red lab, the odd terrier....

I shall be a crazy dog lady :D:D

Is this your way of saying you have kept Pancake?? and that spangles will now be moving in at Chez CAYLA??:D:D:D

Erm no bloody way:p

I will always have lurchers/whips/grey and definately always have a rotti, and akita, I love my akita, she is one in a million with lovely characteristics, I love everything about them, I would ideally like to have a puppy rotti and a puppy akita together, but as im always gonna have rescues it possibly always gonna be an adult akita and rotti, like I have now.
I will possibly get a shepherd to, cos I miss haivng one.

GSD mix again, either with collie or lab perhaps? One day I'll have a nova scotia duck tolling retriever/slovakian rough haired pointer. Probably mixes of some sort! B E A utiful!

Hmmmmm.. when Betsy is between 1 or 2 we will get another pooch, OH wants a spangle but I would like another Border (OH says I will end up like a mad cat lady, but with terriers!)

I have always said my 'grown up' dog will be a Lab... and may get one of them next depending on when we decide its time for a sprog.

My list of breeds I would like to own at some point in my life (or would like to own again) is really quite big.
So far we have:
More Border Terriers
Boxer
Lab
Rottie
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Pug (may have to leave the OH before I manage to get one in the door!)
Jack Russell (to add some variety to my terrier brood!)

Im going to turn into CAYLA! :o :p

I've always, always wanted an Otterhound. There's a kennel not 10 mins from me and they have the most adorable dogs ever. Next on the list is a skinnydog (of any size) which I'm in the process of getting. And last but not least, a Slovakian Rough Haired Pointer - ever since I met one on a shoot I wanted one!

....oh, and a Leonburger would be nice too :D

health tested parents.

i have had 2 BC's (kc reg health tested old age caught up with them)

springer x collie - i know both parents (accident) so far were at 2k in vets bills.

so to save any more heartache i would alway buys from health tested parents. i know it dosent guarantee anything but its alesser chance ot problems than your BYB's muts.

Not with a pug or J.r.t on ya list u wont:p:D

I will always have a Boston terrier or Boston terrier mix. I will always have dogs in pairs from now on, too, and the other part of the puzzle honestly depends on where I'm living at the time. I can't see myself with big dogs, though. I love having pets that are easily transportable, and that are permitted in the cabin on US domestic flights.

As you can probably imagine, I really can't see myself without a GSD, though realise that one day age might defeat me, although my Mum was walking her shepherd into her 80s so I should be okay for a bit yet.:p Having had whippets in the past a skinny dog is something I would consider in the future, however, dare I say it, I might evenbe tempted by a spangle.:o Have met a few crackers recently, some of the AAD ones included in that of course, although I also knew some right little sods in the past so still not totally convinced.

Oooh, here's my wish list!:D

Shetland Sheepdog - I have this daft dream to train a sheltie to be a proper dog & herd!

Mini-Wirehaired Dachshund - for when I am in my dotage!

Griffon Bruxellois (sp) - Again when I am an old biddy.

:D

When I was young I'd flick through a guide to dog breeds and play this game for hours(still do sometimes :D)

I think if I'm honest I'll always have a rescue greyhound but I'd love another sort of sighthound. Possibly an unusual one like a Chart Polski or an Azawakh.

Also, I've always had a soft spot for big dogs so maybe an Irish Wolfhound or an Anatolian Shepherd.

If I was looking another pet I don't think I could get another mini schnauzer as Beastie is just too cool and the new one would constantly be compared to her :D I would love a greyhound, but my bunnies wouldn't :p so I think I would just end up with a rescue dog, probably an older one as I cannot be arsed with puppies :p

Gundog wise - it's always going to be labs! M won't allow me a choice in that matter

I have always had Greyhounds throughout my life.
I can't see past them.
I have 4 at the moment & if i was to get another dog it would be a Greyhound all the way.

XxX

ive been playing this game for the last few months lol

and the top of my wants would be a spaniel (either a cocker or a springer)
i did look into getting a retired greyhound but you have to sign a disclaimer saying that you will never allow it off the lead and TBH it put me off a bit, i didnt realise that they were that bad at recall. But not writing it off completely yet, that would just be a learning curve.

and a lab or retriever
airdale terrier
Great dane

all in all i think that we will end up with a cross breed rescue, hopefully a GSD x collie mix or somthing like that lol

When I have got rid of my husband then a ridgeback. But I have lost my heart to the rotts as well. Maybe a couple of each!! :D
