Went to a uk chasers course today with my friend and my instructor. Was very nervous to start with as Doug can be a
t!t a lot of the time. No need to be though as he was fab, no bucking/bronking, just had one huge rear (which he has never done) into a massive leap which didnt scare me to much. Schooled around some small 2ft fences and he popped them all really nicely, then moved onto bigger fences around 2ft6 and popped them all nicely again. I was so suprised as he has never seen a xc fence before or been anywhere that is not an "enclosed" show, didnt refuse any, infact didnt look at any either!

And yep, he has lost tons of weight although he does look like an over grown pig in the last photo. Yeahh, had him for just over a year now

I've not read any of your posts before, so don't know background, apologies, but looks like + sounds like you got a lovely forward going bold young pony, + you ride him very well, so hoping you both enjoy many more lovely xcs to come. Sharing your enthusiasm, just arranged a couple of donation rides with a friend now we got wheels again, cant wait!

PS: Just seen pics - he's a lovely brave pony, but he must have trusted you also, or he wouldn't do it! Also, he has awareness - 1st fence has false groundline, then he has ditch thing, then a fence without groundline - he has a brain, but he wouldn't do it without good riding. All credit to your trainer + friend, also. They are lovely pics, wish some of mine looked like that!! BS x

i bet there will be some entertaining ones,lol!!I took him last yr(schooling only),he jumped everything 2nd time,lol...but i just sat on top cacking myself

I jump 3ftish on him at home, so these jumps were quite small height wise, but some were chunky and its always scary knowing they arent going to knock down if you hit them

I was doing big pony club kicks to the second fence in my pics but he just went over it like it was a tiny cross pole, didnt look at it or anything, was so suprised!

Have just realised you went to the one in Bromsgrove which is where I live- what is the course like there? How many of the jumps are 3ft? Might take the baby there one day, it's down the road from my boyfriends house and I pass it every day to get to his!

At longlands livery, its £5 to go round as many times as you want. The jumps are from 1ft - 3ft only a few a 3ft, most are around 2ft6. Lots of variety though
