The owners of the horse probably feel awful about it. I would if my horse did that.
When you feel up to it, give them a ring to let them know you are ok and smile about it.If you are nice about it, even if nothing comes of this one, they may put you on to someone else.
If it was me I would go back with arm in plaster and help out with other stuff, and then next time you ride, take it more slowly. I have had sharers in the past who literally knocked on the door and asked to help out. They werent necessarily ready to get on the horses straight away but with a bit of help they did.

Don't see it as a sign you should give up - its bloody bad luck, but sounds like just one of those things.
If you like the horse I'd definitely keep in touch and see if you can pick something up again when you're better.
