Got a visit, from, an aquaintance....as would not say friend
crazy.gif
, when I went shopping for Xmas pressies, from a numpty girl, one half of the now expired couple, the lad was friends with OH when they where younger.

They have split and want shot of their rotti bitch, the self and same rotti....I advised them not to buy, and the self and same rotti, I neutered last year after they wanted to breed from her, I scared them "with poss what if things go wrong costs", and my mams rescue payed for the spay.
The dog has been left in the yard, as the house is empty, they have both moved back with seperate parents and left the dog behind, as parents could not possibly take her in
mad.gif

Anyhow, she wants me to rehome her, or she is putting her in local advertiser, yellow paper
crazy.gif
frown.gif

We are packed with 53 dogs, 3 being rotti's
frown.gif
, and we have now stopped re-homing for christmas period.
I have secured her a space with another rescue, so she atleast has rehoming back up.....which took some doing
crazy.gif

I asked the girl for a £100 donation for rescue, as they will have to pay to kennel her, for the coming weeks, till a home can be found.
SHE said, NO!, I cannot afford that
mad.gif
mad.gif
mad.gif

She is not vaccinated either
mad.gif
, so we as a rescue are now paying to re vax her and pay the rescue the donation, to take her in.

WHAT THE F!CK do people want, BLOOD, the dog has never been walked for 3 years, she is 4 years old and about 6okg
shocked.gif
crazy.gif
, they are basically chucking food in and p!ssing off, they say, that they have no time to walk her
mad.gif
went round tonight to vax her, as given keys to house, the yard is covered in sh!t, she is in a shed with an open door and riped up matress, I will be removing her tomorrow, her 2 weeks awaiting for re vax will be spent with me.
She is such a lovely girl aswell, she never flackered when I jabbed her, I took her a big bone round, she was over the moon

sorry, for the rant, im so angry, once the dog is gone/in my care.....Im going to let rip, and it won't be nice to hear
mad.gif

No wonder you are angry!!!
Poor dog, it always seems to me like the least commited owners always go for the big dogs, with associated big upkeep costs, and then complain how much space and money the dog takes up!
Well done for helping to pick up the pieces though, I'm sure the big lady will be very pleased to come home with you tomorrow
smile.gif

Poor dog.

Humans really can be most cruel at times can't they? The dog is lucky they knew you so she had a chance of finding a safe and loving home for the rest of her days.

I hope it works out for her and she's found a new owner who will give her the care and attention she clearly deserves.

If, it was not in the best interest of the dog....I would punch her face....twice for good measure
smirk.gif
grin.gif
, Im itching to be my usual nasty b!tch self, and the girl knows, Im none to nice, when it comes to this sort of thing
crazy.gif
, I think thats why she keeps speaking to OH, instead of me
mad.gif

Once the dog is here............well.....I cannot promise, I can restrain myself
crazy.gif
, I will not be held responsible for my actions

springs to mind, or crates and ships...lol, won't get em all on one boat
grin.gif
grin.gif

I should be used to these sort of stories but they still shock and anger me. Poor dog, hope she manages to find a nice home, but suspect that is not going to happen in a hurry. Can we have pictures when you punch the stupid owners
smirk.gif

Oh, that would make me so mad too, especially as you have been there the whole time they have had the dog giving advice, I don't understand how you can call yourself an animal lover and yet drop them like a hot stone when they become an inconvenience.... arrghhh, I am on one about dogs and rescuing at the moment, what is wrong with people?!

That really makes me mad, these useless people and its always the animals that suffer in their car crash lives. I hope she finds a loving home.

how horrible for the poor girl and what a hideous way to have lived her life!! I would take photos and report them. You know at this point 78 people have read this post, if we all pay pal'd Cala £2 each it would help pay for the rottie's care. What do you think Cala and what do others think?

Go cala, go cala!!!!
Ahhh stuff it, whatever your actions we will all stick up for you!
grin.gif

No that sounds cr*p and horrid! I would be FUMING if I know anyone who had done that to a dog that they shouldn't have got in the first place, and I have a short temper at the best of times!

I would like to help Breeze_mum, but I only pay cash, I only have one card and I can't pay anything anywhere whit it.

Cala, I have a theory about REALLY overweight large dogs of working breeds. When I hear about a case like this one, I can't help thinking that it could be about not realising how much work a working breed really needs to behave and be easy to live with, and that the owners takes the "easy way out" by feeding them into passivity.

Either that or it's the usual, "You can't say that I don't love him / her, just see how well-fed they are!"

Anyway, you have sympathies Cala, try not to feel to much like
a025.gif
or
n040.gif
if that's how you feel?

Do you know what never fails to amaze me - the good nature of animals. They remain (on the whole) so trusting of people, even when they have been beaten/starved/abandoned. They still keep their trust in us humans and we are not worthy of their trust when we treat them so appallingly. Its terrible what some people do to animals these days. Ignorance is a big thing to. There was a bloke on the last yard I was at who had a bitch dog who he wanted to keep unspayed (sorry not sure what the correct terminology is) and she used to wonder round with all the male dogs chasing her when she was in season and I used to think for goodness sake there are enough unwanted dogs in the world without making more. My dog was a rescue from Birmingham Dogs Home and my partners beagle was 'saved' from a hunting pack as she was due to be shot as she was 2" too short at the shoulder to run with the rest of the pack. She was 6 weeks old when she received her death sentence. Although to a degree I can understand the reasoning behind that one due to not being able to keep stragglers and her being left behind out hunting which would have been cruel I am sure that the pack hadn't 'imprinted' on her so much that she couldn't have been found a good home somewhere. If my partner hadn't felt sorry for her she would have been killed. As for animal abusers - in my opinion they should be locked up in a great big dungeon on some desert island and given the same abuse which they have given the charges in their care. I do hope the dog secures a good home and things turn out well for her.

Dont worry re funds, we have sorted them, between mams, rescue and the greyhound rescue.

If anyone ever wants to donate, feel free , I have never put our site addy up, cos, Im not one for pushing things upon people but www.adoptadognortheast.org.uk atleast u can look at nice piccies of dogs from time to time
smile.gif
, but there is no need to donate, we manage ok, it's just when things like this crop up, and we need to get them into other rescues.
OR , in links their is a site called animal helpers unite for helping emergency cases, the girl who runs the site, made our rather colourfull site
grin.gif
grin.gif

I will be uploading new piccies soon, but we have stopped re-homing for Xmas, so I have been busy doing post Xmas home checks
smile.gif

I have had reports from the neighbours, that, this dog has indeed spent her life in this 4x4 yard, in an open shed, and the matress was soaking
crazy.gif
, the yard
crazy.gif
, of what their was, is covered in faeces, and clutter, so that she cannot even move around in the sh!tty space she has
mad.gif

She was over the moon to see me and OH, and get out so to speak, bless, she hardly knows us from adam, and she came bounding up to us
smile.gif

She is so fat, because they cuck huge bowls of wagg out, and being a rotti, and bored of her t!ts, she just eats and then sleeps, as no room to, move anywhere else.

Thanx guys......Im at work tonight and tomorrow night, but will keep u update.

Just about to head out on a walk, so she can see some of the world, with my mad pack.

just as a nice point cala your website is lovely!
Your success stories were nice to read too! (not the situation they came from but that htey are ok now!)

God Cala, how did you not just whack her?! Hope the rotti recovers well with you.

Also FL, I totally agree, if I hear 'Oh, but it's because I looooove her and she loves me, look how happy she is' every time I suggest their dog could do with losing weight.....of course she's happy, if I had a constant supply of chips I'd be happy too, but it wouldn't be very good for me.

And applecart - too true. Local rescue took in a springer with a swollen liver, testicles and cracked ribs - he'd taken the kicking of his life but he won't stop wagging his tail and still loves people.

For the life of me I cannot understand abuse of any kind. No one makes people have children or animals. No one forces a baby or puppy on a person and there are so many people willing to give them a good home. It is not like they are not well advertised. If someone does not want an animal or child then take them to someone who does!

What a lovely website, you can really tell the caring that goes on, some of those stories are heartbreaking but its lovely to see the happy outcomes.

Am loving Kaiser and Alfie, wonder if my bully would get on with them ?

It's not too far for me to drive up and hold her down while you kick her if you like!
mad.gif

I hope you do tell her exactly what you think in no uncertain terms and in nice short words that someone of her low intelligence can understand.

I've seen several stories lately on rescue sites of dogs that have been rehomed and returned in a worse state than they left. Never understand it as long as I live...all we can do is keep filling our houses with their cast offs

Quick update, as Im off to work, with her, my own rotti and akita, in my doggi van....with a crate..lol
grin.gif

She was over the moon when we took her for a walk, she was knackered after 5 mins walking
crazy.gif

I got some pics, not good quality, will try and get them uploaded tomorrow
smile.gif

Well done for being able to help this poor girl out
smile.gif
. Hopefully she will go onto a kind and loving home that will care for her properly.

Sadly, this is an all too familiar story
frown.gif
. We've taken at least three bitches in from the pound that have been in pup this year. They've only been babies themselves - caught on their first season
mad.gif
.

I really get cross when people get a dog like Rotti without thinking it through, because of their capabilities and bad owners the dogs are very vulnerable in my eyes, either to being goaded into being a problem or by just being bored out their minds.

We rescued a 2yo Dobie as a playmate for our Border terrier bitch (OK bit of a size mismatch but she hangs off his jowls just fine) , and the boy Dobes are generally very very even tempered but just harder to rehome cos they are so big and boisterous and ok a bit on the disobedient side (3 weeks residential training couldnt do anything with our boy :-))))

Our friends recently took on a rescue Rotti to add to their 2 existing boys, thankfully that bitch wasnt overweight but a lot of Rotti bitches seem to be allowed to get that way due to lack of exercise.

People rehoming dogs do consider the 'black and tan' large working breeds, maybe not with tinies as they are likely to bowl them over but other than that, if you have a good garden for them and are prepared for the work.

Here is my happy rescue 'devil breed' dog and his little playmate in the snow!!! They have a pretty nice life I think compared with his previous life of living outside in a yard.

This kind of thing really makes my blood boil. Poor dog -well done to you for finding her somewhere to go, and I sincerely hope that they manage to find her the homeshe deserves. Not walked for 3 years?
mad.gif
Why the hell did they get a bloody dog? especially a big one
mad.gif
mad.gif
Not sure how you managed to keep your hands by your sides Cala. Well done again for helping her.....
