Up in the clouds
If you have a horse shot there is always blood and finer bred horses tend to both bleed and have nerve twitches longer than a cob or pony.
I think it might be something to do with the medication they've had ( or not). Our 14.3 gypsy cob both bled and twitched more than any other horse I've ever had pts, and I've had quite a few, and I can honestly say that there was absolutely no possibility of any TB in her breeding but she had just had a powerful painkilling injection about an hour before the knackerman came.
Interestingly, I've had to clean up after an injection on one occasion (big, powerful ID who reared up).
OP thinking of you at this difficult time. The advantage of a planned pts is that you can arrange everything just as you want it, which isn't always possible in an emergency.
