Don't know much apart from how to trot him up so please help
Once called in smile give horse big hug recieve Rosette burst in to tears then do lap of honour.
You need a plain havana in hand bridle, flat not rolled, with a simple bit, you need to try him and see what suits, then either a leather 2 way or 3 way coupling, the 3 way will mean you are on the noseband rather than just the bit, finished off with a leather lead rein. Have a look for good quality 2nd hand ones to save you the expense of buying new.
Dont want to hijack thread, but im hoping to show my sec d this spring. He will be 12 months by then. Any tips on showing him please. hes got 4 white socks. Should I get a white showing halter? What should I wear. I only want to do a show or two for the experience for him but dont want to make a fool o fmyself!
Thanks, any other tips?
I don't know much about Sec A showing but from what I've seen I think; if your under 16yo then you need to wear your hat, then trousers, shirt, tie and you can wear a waistcoat. You see many handlers also wearing trainers. Show cain and gloves.
Pony is fine in the white halter if you can control him. If his entire then you may need to look into if he needs biting - I have no idea.
Again at 12 months I would be recommending Youngstock classes, against the M&M he may not do as well as he will not have the condition and muscle of the older boys. This is just from my own experience - every judge is different.
Tip - run as fast as you can.![]()
Enjoy.
Would he not be better in black instead of Havana. Now I'm confused again. Fat raised or rolled
