Hi there,
I have a local show coming up near me at the beginning of August, I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advise re turnout etc.
I have done in-had shows before with a shetland and New forest, however i have never shown my boy before!
So there are 5 classes which we could enter, they are, Ring Experience, Welsh, Best gelding (judged on confo and action), solid coloured and handsome gelding.
I will attach a picture, do you think these would be ok? I have to hack to get there, about an hour, he regularly hacks up to 2 hours, so think that shouldn't be a problem. He will obviously get brakes between classes plus OH will bring the car to put saddle brushes etc in.
So i had been wearing beige Jods, with black boots + gaiters, a white shirt with burgundy tie, and navy blue jacket, black gloves and blue velvet covered hat. does this sound reasonable? what do you do if it's raining?
Swift has a plain black bridle without noseband (he has a pretty face) just a snaffle bit on the browband, he has a natural main, tail and feathers, which i assume should be left as is?
Other than that if anyone has any tips or hints, how soon before to bath? etc would be greatly appreciated since it's our first.
And of course i'll post pics after if everything goes according to plan
Hope the pics don't come out too big, apologise in advance if they do
