I saw a friends horse in the wrong field, a corn field. As I had a headcollar and lead rope in the car I went to catch it. On seeing me the mare hopped into the next field but not by going over the barbed wire fence but by jumping sideways through between two strands like a deer would.
I caught her and checked her over before returning her back to the proper field, now two fields away. Not a mark on her. She must have left her field the same way between the rails of the post and rail fence.
