Anyone have experience of this with their dog, what did the vets suggest ie tablets or can they do a operation?

Thanks:)

My last bitch had it, she had Propalin Syrup, it helped but she only had it in winter as the drug seemed to wear off. She would live out during the summer so was'nt such a problem.
It depends why, if infection you need to clear that up or if something is fixable maybe op is a good idea. Mine was a spayed bitch that leaked as she got older, usually when in a deep sleep.

She doesn't have an infection. Will be phoning vet later to see what he says not that I can understand what he says half the time as he's foreign.

Idlp you really MUST take her to another vet and get some sense out of someone, this is really not looking good :( I'm sorry to say that but I am just worried about your greyhound :(

Well she wet the bed again today despite already being let out this morning and it is yellow so assume it is wee. I might try and speak to a different vet although don't want to offend the guy but I just can't understand him very well. Must be my age

Who cares if you offend him? I changed vets to a practice 40 miles away because I wasn't happy with how a vet was treating my dog's ears and a UTI complaint (they kept treating him for a urine infection, which kept coming back - he had a huge mass of tissue floating in his bladder, they didn't even scan him!), this isn't about people and offending them, this is about your dog!

Find a vet you like. My old bitch was incontinent because she had liver/kidney (can't remember which) failure and her system was shutting down. No point getting medication when her body was failing so we pts :( This probably isn't what you want to hear :(

We had an OSD and the vet said that it was just down to old age - nothing they could do for her.

Our yorkie seemed to have incontinence and we werent sure at first what was causing it, however she got really sick and was admitted to the vets put on a drip for 4 days. She had blood tests and turned out this was due to kidney failure.

However this is a good news story as she is now fed a homemade low protein/ phos diet with a scoop of medication in the morning and evening and is more "alive" and loving life now than she was when we first got her! This was only about 2 months ago (and got her in Feb this year as an ex breeding bitch - age anywhere from 6-12!). She has had check ups and blood tests, and will continue to do so. We gave our recipie to the vet to check nutritional values etc and the vet is over the moon with her and her progress and wants to give the recipe out for other kidney failure dogs to try as the specialist renal diet food doesnt go down well with 99% of dogs!!

As suggested incontinence can be treat with syrup added to her food daily, I find it pretty effective (for the dog of course)
I wills till be booking her for spay, the more seasons she has the more suseptible she is for a pyo.

I don't mean to be harsh but why are you not doing much about this.

She should have been in with a new vet YESTERDAY.
You should have booked her spay by now.

Get her to a new vet. The longer you wait the worse it is going to be.
