Grey without a doubt. Four of my five are greys. The other is the darkest bay possible (nearly black, but with a mealy muzzle). When I was a kid we would have called him brown, but no-one seems to call them brown nowadays.
Yes, we're winning! Apparently greys go lighter because of the colour of their skin, but that grey roans have different colour skin to normal greys and therefore will not go lighter. I have to sya my lad fits this pattern as looking at pics he's been darker every year, has chestnut hairs under his saddle, a brown back, neck and bum and even some dun hairs He's just multicoloured!
Hey, what's wrong with duns??! Mine is dun - golden dun and he's fab - hence why i put that colour! I also love red and whites and dun and whites and in fact anything unusually coloured really
I know what you mean, my ned has got black legs (which I like...as they sparkle in the sun light and don't show the muck as much when he's a dirt bag!) then he goes errr like bay/grey/roan/red tones with white flecks in... not sure if its the sunlight that gives that red tint, then he's got a silver tail which looks great against his black legs and a smudging of grey in his mane, he's actually darker than the aviator pic, plus that was taken when he was younger so now I'm even more confused, will he go darker or lighter?
I don't know even know what his proper colour is...steel grey, rose grey....either way it ends in grey lol
I think I must be one of the only people who doesn't particularly like greys. I wouldn't object if the right horse came along and happened to be grey too, but the thought of spending every waking moment fending off poo-stains, grass stains and mud just fills me with dread. If it was a magical stay-grey horse, then I'd consider it.
Palomino, my boy is self-shining. I have two here, admittedly the other one is dismally wishy washy, fortunately she isn't mine.
I have two bays and three chestnuts as well, I don't particularly like either colour, but I DO like the horses concerned, it isn't their fault they are brown.
