He's always been nicknamed Gubby since he was little he is good friend with a chum of mine and was introduced to me as Gubby. Jules89 has lessons with him and it only twigged after a while that we knew the same person!!!

Oh and to add to my immature giggles I also smirk at Daisy Dick! when does stuff like this stop being so funny???

when you are no longer a child at heart...
is Daisy her real name, i don't think it is actually. her father is/was Dave Dick, who won the Grand National iirc, so i've never thought her name was funny, for some reason.
stupid question maybe, but how come they can event under their nicknames? Don't you have to use your 'proper' name for stuff like registrations etc? Funny thread!

Remind me to invite you to one of those v dull drinks/dinner parties where you're supposed to behave like a grown-up as I struggle with that.
Chloe, there was a Don at Cambridge when my ex- was there, who rejoiced in the surname Treblecock. The 'bedders' (cleaners) all carefully pronounced this "Trebilcoe", while he proudly and defiantly pronounced it Treble-cock. we used to routinely have hysterics over this reverse-snobbery, as well as the name.
my OH halfs surname is AMY im fed up everytime i sort out things like council tax them asking me "and are you and any oliver in civil partnership or just co-habiting" i reply no OLIVER AMY and i are co-habiting

Made my evening - perhaps i need a life?!

It might have made my evening had I not fallen asleep during Mastermind and only just woken up. My husband and I have always joked that we'll have a kid called Badger (to be said in a very upper-class sort of bark). It would be best if he went on to become a Wing-Commander or suchlike, but bounding round Badders would probably do just as well.
Luckil the chance of me having a kid atm is about the same as me bounding round Badders so we should be OK on that one!
