Theres a charity show being held near me and they are holding a dressage show. I have never really done dressage and I would really like to have a go at it but the entry fees are £10 and to me thats expensive because all the local shows I have done the entry fees have been between £5p-£10 (Jumping). Am I just being cheap or is £10 a normal entry fee?

Local shows round here can be about £6 - £12, at good show centers that also run aff you are looking at about £11 - £15 (or two for £25). If you ride aff then you are looking at about £18!

That said, you often get what you pay for - at the local shows you might get someone who barely knows one end of the horse from another (but of course you might get someone good!), and at the show centers that run aff, they try to use aff judges so it is def worth the extra cost. I guess it's more than sj as you have the sheets and feedback to cost.

Hope you enjoy it if you have a go!!

I normally pay 16 per entry BD so that sounds cheap! Bloomin lot cheaper than the BE entries aswell (think close to 70) so BD feels like a cheap day out - if it entering a class that cost a tenner I would be chuffed to pieces!

I think I probably will give it a go. I think I will only do the one class (a walk and trot one) and as its within hacking distance I will save fuel costs and hack there :)

compared to everyone elses responses £10 seems reasonable.

And oh my I would never be able to afford BE !!! :)
