Now would I be a Kentish lass, or a lass of Kent?

Just a muse.

But almost ever thread I read these days descends into a "you're stupid and you smell" sort of argument.

That is if the thread didn't start off as someone (YO, OH, other liveries) or an entire sect of society (bunny huggers, parelli supports, gypsies...) is stupid and smells.

Why on earth is everyone on this forum so damn miserable all the time? Do none of you ever go out and just chillax with your horses?

It's where I've been all evening. Lovely. Love my pony :)

I've had a great evening with my boy tonight!!! :D :D :D

I'm usually happy :)

Even when my older mare throws a hissy fit because I asked her to bend  I'm happy :)

When my youngster decides she doesn't want to be caught but will play chase instead I'm happy :)

Yep I think I'm a happy bunny :D

I'm happy! My sister has suddenly become this amazingly confident and sophisticated rider with an attitude to die for, her horse has realised what stressage is all about and is going beautifully, he's never looked or felt better and has been short listed for an award out of over 400 entries! Sure, stuff is a bit off in places but we know what we're doing.

I disagree with some methods, but people would equally disagree with some of ours and as long as the horse is ultimately happy and healthy I don't really care how it gets there.

I am an irritatingly happy person right now! Life is GOOD! :D

Happy? happy! where would the fun be in that?
Noooo much better to poke people with sharp stick's, thats where the fun is! :D
And i don't know where you live, but it's been far to dark here to play ponies!
I suppose i should have paid the lecy bill! :D

See, now being happy would show a boring and normal life - how is that desirable?! ;)
Sometimes I'm happy, then I come on here and read the posts :D :p

There are lots of happy posts on here though, some really heartwarming ones. But people like to come on here to vent and get advice - perfectly justifiable but then it gets silly because people just can't agree to disagree frankly.. I'm perfectly happy with people having their own views, just not them shoving them down my throat. Though, to be honest I don't know what I'd do without this forum, there are some very nice people, but 'heated debates' can always arise, no matter how nice they are xx

Lassiesuca, that is an awesome photo!! But you appear to be being stalked by a goat.. :p

Thank you :) :)

He's just turned 5, backed him last year and not ridden him since March. He's been on holiday whilst I've finished my exams (which ended this morning). He's in his new home too, got a bit scared o[n the new road to begin with, so did some in-hand work and then got on.

The 'nanny' horse who was meant to be there to support him, had to be nannied ;). This happened last time, with my boy leading the other horses home because he was very happy to walk forward. Did lots of schooling out hacking too... I'm feeling very chuffed!

Being self indulgent now, but I'm so chuffed I could scream :D

I'm very proud of him, he was such a scared pony when I first got him. Trusted nobody and would run away if you entered his field, he then became a little aggressive and forward. Now he's become my perfect gentleman. He's off to his first show in two weeks, just an in-hand, but after today, am considering a ridden class also :)

What a lovely little man!!

Put your name down for the ridden class... you know you want to!! ;)

You should be so proud of him, and you! :)

I'm contemplating it :) I think he'd enjoy it!

I haven't had much time for him or doing any clicker with him. I was worried some of work would of gone down the train. He crushed my foot at one point because the road was so narrow, and I've a really sore foot, but I love him!

Violet, I don't mind heated debates. But already people are turning this thread personal because they have brains the sizes of peas and can't think of anything better to do!

Debate is healthy, disagreement is healthy. Calling someone smelly (or a lot worse, as is the HHO norm!) is just pathetic!

That's abit insulting isn't it? People could have a field day on you if they wanted.

oh god...is that a cob in your avatar? You definitely are stupid and you smell then.

:)

I too have a cob lol. :)
To answer your question, I am sometimes happy and sometimes sad but always try to say something nice if I can. This tends to work most of the time except when I'm already late for work and some silly person is driving under the speed limit; then my good humour fails and I start wishing for James Bond car parts! On here I think others could do with thinking more before they type - in most cases there is a tactful way to put things and if you think someone won't take your advice then there is no point giving it.

You'd be surprised what they remember with the clickers!!! Dorey remembered everything after three years!

My foot is still sore after Dorey jumping on it two weeks ago too!!

And Josie. Peas and sweetcorn. Peas and sweetcorn.

I like to think Im a happy soul and Im a great believer in live and let live. If I see any posts I disagree with I ignore I dont button push. But then Im a grown up and have a life outsideH&H and mix with people who dont always agree with me.

Button pushing reminds me of the ones at school who always went running to teacher or took their ball away if they weren't winning..

Here here Dobiegirl
I'm surprised OP has time to 'chillax' with her ponies. Seems to spend all their time auditing and button pressing at every opportunity... ???

I took extreme offence to a comment which stated "That certain german gentleman had the right idea (on gypsies)

Why didn't any of the normal people on this forum see that as being almost as sick as dragging a horse under the wheels of a van?

Or am I alone in ranking human and animal cruelty on a par...

You are the crusader of all things good and mighty and you alone take things literally and push the wonder button and get threads removed for the good of all humanity. You cannot simply ignore remarks and by pushing the button you teach people a great lesson and improve their moral conduct.. and this you will continue to do until all mankind (or at least HH forum) agrees with you and what you find acceptable. All hail the mighty Serenity.. upholder of the righteous

Okay, can I get one thing clear?

I'm not the mysterious button pusher who obsesses over signatures with a ruler held to the screen, nor do I remove adverts, questions about adverts or even things which are construed as adverts only to the great Button Pusher themselves.

I do not report the threads that go missing, I do not report parelli users. I don't even button push when JM is telling someone some home truths.

However. If, for personal reasons which shall remain just that, I feel sickened reading a blatent breach of terms and conditions on this forum, then I push the button. It happens about once a blue moon, if that.

TFC doesn't like me button pushing anyway, so I try not to unless I feel I need to.

It's difficult to appear happy after reading that thread, are we supposed to sit back and ignore the things those disgusting vermin do to those animals? are we to simply turn a blind eye? That didn't happen when a cat was thrown in a bin, once the press heard about it it was all over the news and the things these people do get ignored, it's not fecking right at all.

I think we are mostly happy souls on this site - we have lots of healthy debates on various subjects and I certainly don't feel that we are actively nasty to anyone.

My horses make me happy wheneer I'm with them.

It's not that people are miserable as such, it's that behind a computer screen they can find the courage to be ''know it all's'', face to face they would probably never say half the things they do.

And EVERYONE is different, there is NO right or wrong way to bring a horse up to the level you want, if you care for your horse/s and you never neglect them, and they are happily brought up to the level of experience you expect, and your happy, then its a win win.

If everyone had the same views, this forum probably wouldn't exist because there would be nothing to talk about!

Debate is healthy, it's when people start to get personal, or they specifically reply to a post JUST to cause conflict, that it becomes miserable and a problem.

I myself do think the way people respond about parelli is pathetic, parelli is a proved method, and yes it is common sense, tarted up a bit, but it works for me, and everything needs a name..... you don't call making tea ''get a cup, put some sugar in, and a teabag, boil the kettle, pour the water in, get the milk out the fridge, pour the milk in, put the milk away'' ...it's a similar scenario!

And as for cobs, some people don't like cob, I had a cob who was extremely lazy, and he was only half cob! But if he wanted to take off he would!

Each to their own :) As long as someone isn't nasty to me, I am happy....

It's also just like texting, you can't put an accent on a post, or a text, something that is so innocent can come across unneccesary.

If you know your treating your horse fairly, and your happy, then ignore comments, why reply to them knowing it will cause conflict? You will always get someone who disagrees and someone whos nasty but thats forums!

I was very lucky and my 7 page thread regarding my poor tb on loan, only had 2 posts that I disagreed with, I always stated why I disagreed, and never had a reply from said posters!

A debate is good, reporting what another person has said, just because you don't like it, is bad.

Don't get involved, if you refuse to accept how someone else is thinking.
