I always try to do the right thing by Chloe. I have seen the problems that other people have had on the yard with their horses and I know that we are lucky to have found such a lovely pony

Thanks Shilasdair. I hope it doesn't snow too much tomorrow because I can't wait to get up to the yard again and put everything into practice that I've learnt. I wish I could afford a horse for myself because I am really getting into this whole horse thing

Lots of horses don't like their girth being tightened. Obviously tell her off if she should go to nip - there's no excuses for that! However I would leave the girth as loose as possible and then gradually tighten it over the course of a few minutes. This will give her chance to 'warm up' so to speak.
