Is it essential to walk a hunter trial course? As im going hunter trialing tommorow and the course is not exactly close, do they tend to be pretty straightforward in terms of going over them?

You can walk a horse whilst horses are going around it.

it is very important that you do walk a course.
More than once I have ridden around a course blind and it really is quite a risk!

I hasten to add that the only times this has happened was because travelling to any event from the IOW was always subject to delays such as fog!

Fab thank you that makes life easier but will have plenty of time to walk the course then :)

Last time I decided to wing it and not walk the course found out I missed a jump lol. Shame as had jumped all the rest fine. Still don't know where that jump was :)
