The rain we've had so far hasn't had much of an impact on the grass, still yellow and dry. To be honest, I just want enough rain to re-fill the borehole to the auto-filling troughs, lugging water around is doing my back in!

I was woken up by huge thunder at 4:50am and it continued to rain steadily until about 5 minutes ago. The grass outside my office window is green where it was yellow last week so hopefully this bodes well for the local fields.

It's still going here - nearly 11 hours. My lovely rugged sweetitch horse will now be wearing the equivalent of a wet nappy. And I bet he's hoiked his flymask off and squashed it into the mud again. Just in time for the rain to stop and the flies to come out again...

Big storm here in Suffolk, I got up at 3 am as my dogs were barking , they were all fine including the puppy and I stayed up till the thunder stopped about 5.30 and had a couple of hours in bed and then we went for a walk in the pouring rain. It was quite a relief not to be boiling.

We had the same (I'm about 30 mins east of ASBMO). It was a pretty wild thunderstorm and the rain sounded very heavy for a bit. My poo picking wheelbarrow looked to have several inches in it, so fingers crossed for a bit of grass growth.
