on tuesday my friend bought a nice little TB mare, she was vetted and passed with no problems.
She was turned out in the field yesterday then lunged in a pessoa for about 10 mins. She was then put away in her stable for the night. This morning her front left leg is huge and swollen and although I haven't seen it I've been told it looks like a tendon injury.
Is it possible she did this in her stable overnight?
Her owner left a feed bucket in there with a handle but I took that out at 6pm. Other than that there's nothing she could have been caught in, she doesn't even have a haynet.
Is it possible she did it while being lunged? Would an injury like that be immediately noticeable?
She has been cold hosed and an ice boot put on then bandaged, and the vet will come out tomorrow.
Just wondering how she could have done it
