Well I'm defentily strange then. I like to give my horses a good kiss on the snoz and do give them plenty of hugs even if just walking past them in the field I'll stop give them a scratch and a hug round the neck.
2 of mine are seriously affectionate, they love a scratch, cuddle & kiss.
One doesn't mind a scratch but finds hugs/kisses 'weird'
One is pretty indifferent to humans in general. I think she quite likes me because I feed her, but in terms of having me around she barely tolerates me & cuddling/kissing is a no no.
