Is plaiting "amateurish"?

i've been talking to my 'gran' about this whole debate... I was quite put out at being called amateurish for spending the love and energy in the perfect plait each showday taught by the lady herself.

She said " really dear, why don't you learn to do both and keep everyone happy?"

..... I hate being dumbstruck...

lmao!

My welsh x wirey tail is clipped too! and her mane is cut- sounds like some peoples on here enemy pony! :) haha

Go clipped tails! :D

Actually, Dorey's tail is hideous... it fell out after she foaled and I'm still trying to grow it back!

So I'm refusing to pull or cut and I'm not sure it would plait! But I don't care!

As ours live out as much as possible we leave their tails full - and plait them if we need to be smarter.

For hunting, it is so so much easier to be able to plait and stitch in the tail, and then at the end of the day to be able to just snip the thread out and not have to wash the tail!

For eventing, I just plait up and often get a comment on my dressgae sheet that he's beautifully turned out.

Quite! :)

Also.... you chaps getting up at 3am and whatnot.... ever heard of snuggy hoods? You can plait at your leisure the day before - whack on the snuggy hood contreption and et voila... instant plaited mane in the morning...

who gets up at 3am and how on earth does it take so long to put a few plaits in????????:eek::eek:
i can do mane AND tail in 20 mins (and done well i might add before anyone says it must be scruffy, numerous £200 turn out prizes prove it) so what do people do to take so long and to warrant getting up at 3?!!!
