Is there anything else I could of done?

So sorry to see this, he looks like a beautiful young horse. Every animal I've lost unless old age I've always thought what could I, should I have done.xx

I am so sorry, you did everything you could and more, so bloody unfair. He looked lovely too. Some things just are not meant to be. Take care of yourself.

Oh, that is so sad, I'm so sorry.

As SEL explained, sometimes this can happen with injuries, what terrible bad luck. Will be thinking of you.

So very sorry for your loss 😞. I lost a young pony to a degloving injury on a hind a few years ago, things went well initially then deteriorated. Vet told me prognosis is poor in these cases and if I'd known that at the beginning I'd have had him PTS at the start. Such a shame. Please don't beat yourself up,accidents happen despite our best intentions. XX

How incredibly sad and unfair, genuinely heart broken for you.
It sounds like you have done absolutely everything you could, sometimes we just can’t fix them.
So sorry, thoughts and hugs for tomorrow.

So very sorry to read this Domino. So bloody unfair. Can’t imagine how heartbreaking it must be for you. Sending big hugs.

I'm so sorry, he's such a beautiful boy. You've done everything you could and I hope tomorrow is peaceful for you.

so so sorry, what a beautiful lad. it’s heartbreaking at any age, but even more so when they’re young. you did everything you could. sending you a big hug for tomorrow🫶🏻

I am so sorry. He's a really beautiful boy.

You can't go down the 'what if' road - you made decisions based on the knowledge you and the professionals had at the time and there is no saying that there would have been a different outcome if you had decided on something else.

Just been on the phone to farrier. I have sent radiographs to 3 more vets as well as several farriers.
I don't want to make the call if there is a chance but I have spoken to more and more experts and I think that's it. I don't want to go down a rabbit hole and I don't want him to have years of box rest etc.
I would absolutely say you have done as much as you can but it’s definitely worth the farrier having a look/conversation. We have a pony on our yard who had really bad pedal bone rotation from laminitis, she couldn’t stand for long it was heartbreaking to watch. We are lucky that we have an amazing farrier who made her some clogs and a cast to support her feet. She was on box rest for weeks and weeks… but she’s unbelievably come right and is starting to go out for periods and the clogs are due to come off soon. I honestly thought she’d be put down she was that bad but you’d not know she’s the same horse now, farriers are miracle workers!

Of course your case is very different but just wanted to say if you have a good farrier who is able to offer this then do have a conversation with him. We are in Herefordshire if you wanted his details, he travels all over Europe teaching he is quite the magician! Even the vet was gobsmacked at what he did for this pony, of course it’s been a long road and lost of very restricted diet and box rest too.

Good luck with whatever you do, absolutely heartbreaking x

Thank you trakky14 that very kind. Unfortunately I am hundreds of miles away.
Problem is the Lami is not diet related, its stress, so the pain and box rest etc is contributing to it, so I am caught in a vicious circle.
He has been down all evening so far, even with intravenous pain killers and Bute in his feed. :(
I’m so sorry, that sounds heartbreaking 💔 I think you have done all you can, such a horrible position to be in. Will be thinking of you tomorrow.
