Lol ;) I have also in recent months proven that riders of chunky coloured coblets can fly too remember :D
Dont have any photos from Eglinton but may be boring and write a report with no photos since I have very little on at work this aft! ;)

Sometimes my posts get loads of replies, sometimes only about 3. I try not to take it personally.

To be fair, I only ever get on here on my lunch or a few evenings a week for an hour or so so don't really have a lot of time. And when I do get on here I tend to mainly read the dressage/flatowrk posts as that's what interests me.

I nearly always comment on a report though if it has lots of pics and is interesting.

It is cliquey on here though but that's life I guess

Lots of good comments on here... although it's quite a familiar topic- has popped up many times before and will no doubt pop up again in the future. I feel that this sub-forum of CR is quite a level-headed (mostly!) and friendly place.

People also tend to be a bit more pragmatic/practical when posting. They would rather post with an opinion/suggestion/reply that hasn't already been posted and so if, by the time they read something, a handful of people have said what they would, they don't feel the need to reply. Certainly this happens to me a fair bit.

As mentioned, people who post the good/bad/ugly will get "known" and recognised and potentially receive more replies. You have to put yourself out there though for that to happen and do need to take replies (or lack of) with a pinch of salt. I agree with those saying reports should be largely for your own enjoyment/record than for others. It is lovely when others comment and share your highs/lows, and I can see it is hurtful if you get high views/low replies, but the relation between views/replies is probably fairly consistent- those with lots of replies will have just as many (if not more!) folk who read but don't reply.

And lastly, I am also guilty of not being on here for particularly long periods of time, just dropping in here and there when I've a few minutes and can't read/reply to everything, so will drop into either titles of threads that appeal the most or a report from someone I know as a start, then read other stuff if I've time.

I don't think "level" comes into it (although it's fab reading- for example- Sarah_Jane or Tigers_Eye's 3*/4* exploits), people will tend to like any report that is well written, has some humour and pics/videos.

PS- there is definitely a decent sized Scottish contingent on here, not all eventers either! ;)

PPS- if I post a report (or currently more likely to be Hopalong sick note updates!), then I try to reply to as many people as possible who take the time to comment/reply etc. It's not to "bump" the thread back to the front page, it's as a courtesy to those who have taken time to reply and also to answer/respond etc. :)

I read every report but hardly ever comment, mainly because I'm 16 and tbh I don't think I'm valid enough to share any crit as I have a massive lack in experience! However I think I'll make an effort to reply more, to say well done or whatever, mainly I just lurk and drool over pretty pictures and ask for CC myself - some which is replied to really well and with really good advice, and some which is ignored but hey ho, that's life.

I'll own up to being a part time poster ;), I don't get on that often so I tend to look for the Eventing ones to read first as that's my own discipline, I then quickly scan anything else which may interest me and read through. I've never done a report of my own and probably never will but that is my choice, (I've only just worked out how to do a photo ), but i do enjoy reading others and there is a lot of sensible advice given to people with problems/questions which I think is invaluable

I tend not to do CC as it's probably already been said by someone else in a much better way that I can, but I will post if someone has asked a specific questions and it's something I think I can shed some light on.

As others have mentioned, quite a few have been on here for a long time and obviously know each other in real life so some reports will be more popular than others, but again, such is life and heh ho :)

I also agree with FigJam, I don't think level has anything to do with it either, certainly not for me

Keep posting and enjoying what you're doing :D

i only compete at low level and i post reports of comps i have been to although haven't got round to the one i did two weeks ago oops! Even if people don't comment its nice to get things off your chest good or bad. I also find there are always people in the same position as you having the same problems so i like to read things i can relate to. Pls don't be put off posting!:p
