Do you think anyone would be interested in a recently gelded 14'3 pure bred 15y/o arab who is absolutely stunning almost pure white with no vices or blemishes but totally green, was backed as a 4 year old but lived the life of riley since?
I cant imagine who would buy such a horse or do you think he could suit someone?

If in good health quite possibly. Has he been off due to lameness issues, or owner happy with a field ornament?

No not at all, he is in perfect health, he was bred to be shown and he qualified internationally as a 3 year old then my mum just lost interest in showing so kept him on full livery as a pet and he literally lives in the lap of luxury but at a large expense to her when she barely sees him. I would like to have him but he is far too small for me:rolleyes:

If I was looking for an in-hand horse, I'd snap him up! I'm sure someone could train him as a riding horse with patience!

Well he was professionally broken as a 4 year old but when he came back from being broken the riding just wasnt kept up so its been some years since he had a saddle on!

I could take him for a short while and at least get him going a bit before they sold him but i would be a serious pony squisher!

My mum would definitely give him to someone for nominal amount if there was a guarantee it was a permanent life long good home, she isnt interested in the sale price particularly just the monthly costs are alot for a horse she doesnt have much to do with.

I think there would be interest in him but I also think you should sell him to Fairy so he gets to live out his days surrounded by some Arab Pals :)

Post a picture? He sounds beautiful!

I will ask for a pic to be emailed to me so i can post but he is truly beautiful its funny the poster is called fairytale because i have always said he looks like a proper fairytale horse...weird.

Spooky! I'm telling you - horses find people! Even if it turns out a wrong match it is for a life lesson to be taught and eventually the horse gets to where it is supposed to be! Look at Christmas Sparkles thread about the name in the rug today! :)

I agree with you although it will not be immediate as his gelding has to be sorted before he is sold and he will come to me for people to look at him or to be bought on for a bit so he is easier to rehome. Oh well i love a project so might be fun for me for a while ;)

What's his breeding? There was a very famous Sire, particularly of grey's, who was often described as the fairytale horse.

Is he a stallion now, or a gelding?

He sounds lovely, and age shouldn't really put people off. We've just backed a 16 yr old from similar circumstances!

Arabian Lines is probably a better place, an advert on 'Homes Wanted', followed by a thread similar to this would give him an excellent chance of a loving, caring home.

He sounds lovely, but I can't afford another one, sadly! I would say though, that my Arab mare (Crabbet x Polish) is only 14.2hh and carries my alarmingly close to 11 stone with ease, so pony squishing may not be a problem?

Not as clear as it may be! Please don't jump to the conclusion that I am unable to read!

A bit unrelated - but a good story to tell.........(and sort of relevant - ish)
We once had a mad TB that we bought of a neighbour who buried us all within days of having him. We took him to sale and ended up part exchanging him for a Chestnut 13.2 pony (ArabX)
My 12 year old daughter fell in love with him from the moment she saw him. We tried to put her off him as he was fast and flighty, and never very consistent when it came to show jumping XC etc and his flatwork was terrible. Hunting, he was unstoppable. But they bonded and she loved him - and coped with the good days and the bad. Her claim to fame with him came when she entered and won the very first ever PC Pony Race with him at Newton Abbot Racecourse - even got their picture in the Racing Post. She got to 15 years and could do anything with him - but she had well and truly outgrown him - her younger brother was some years off being able to ride him, she needed something bigger - we sold him, to finance the bigger horse.
We sold him to a nice family - We were not sure that they were the right family, for him, but they insisted, despite our reservations, and we did need the funds to buy the next horse. What happened next, was that the family were very fond of the pony, but because he was a fast and flighty animal they rarely rode him - and for 5 years he was really semi retired. He is now 20 years old.
We have just been called by his new owners.......and he has a girl of 13 years old riding him, who thinks he is absolutely fantastic - and the pony is now hunting / having fun again.
Now, because he was such a fast and flighty animal - I probably should not have sold him to the novice family - but as things have turned out, he has had a nice 5 years doing very little, and is now having a good time again, with the right child, and is relatively low mileage. I could have sold him to a PC child, who would have moved him on. once he had stopped at a few SJ fillers - and not been consistent enough for all the teams and general PC pressures - and ended up being moved on and on and on......and then where would he have ended up.....it now looks as if the pony is having a new lease of life - but because he is 20 years old, no one is going to expect him to be at the PC Championships - so the pressure is far less. Of course looking back - we should not have sold him at all (so says my daughter) - but needs must were at the time. I do have to say less than a year after buying the horse - she gave up riding for 5 years to concentrate on A levels and University - now she is home again, and moaning about the dull horses we have here now to ride......she wants fast and flighty again......But morale of the story is that there is a hores / pony out there for everyone - but the matching can take some time!
