I 'sold' my mare to a lovely girl about a year and a half ago. I say 'sold' as she didn't pay me very much money for her at all but I liked her the best and from what I've heard around and about the mare's got a really lovely home now. I sold her with tack, rugs, the lot, for about £200 (she is a cronky old girl, quirky in her ways and has bone spavin). Anyway, while I hear that she's living in the lap of luxury and really enjoying life, I also hear that her new owner doesn't ride her much at all.
I am getting to the point where I need a new saddle for my new boy as his is just not suiting either of us and it is a very forward-cut jumping saddle and I really need something more general purpose for dressage etc.
Would it be a p*ss-take to text my mare's new owner and ask if she would consider selling the saddle to me? It is a gorgeous one that I bought almost brand new and fits her like a glove. I have a suspicion it would do my new boy nicely too.
Also, if she agrees to sell it, what price?? Black Country saddle, as I said, bought almost brand new about 2 1/2 years ago and when it went with the mare it was in top condition. If she's not been riding much it should still be in fairly good nick...
Champagne cocktails all round for getting to the end of this post...
