thank you and no she isnt registered.i got her from the livery yard my horse is kept,it is a farm and they breed collies and jack russells.the parents health wasnt tested but are both working dogs.can i feed her meat now ? what type ? go ~cat biscuits is for my cats but i was just asking if it was a good brand.she is better with the food but at the breeders home she had 2 litters of pups sharing the 1 kennel in a barn so probably had to 'fight' for their food.the other pup hasnt passed any worms.CaveCanem-ok,sorry :)

Can I feed her meat now? sorry, lol, she's a dog, what else would you feed her? :D All the dried foods are for convenience... made from 'apparently' meat plus various horrid fillers. (Sorry, Im not laughing at you really and I dont mean to be mean ;) )

The best thing you can do for that pup is ring these guys and put in an order. Its not cheap but it will start you off in the right way and then you can start sourcing cheaper minces/bones etc if you want to.

they do 2 types of puppy food, 'working puppy' is great and not just for working dogs , but it contains a little bit of offal which isnt always as easy to digest as some of the blander meats. Therefore they will probably recommend you start off with the plain chicken puppy for a couple of weeks before gradually introducing the working puppy variety. She doesnt need any biscuits or mixer.

thanks, and i just ask because i kinda thought they were to have dog meat at a certain age :) would cesar be a good meat to feed them ? thats what my other dog has so would just be easier.

no no no no :( not ceaser. Its not the same at all :( LEts be clear - anything in a packet or tin or tub from the supermarket = most probably totally dire. Is Natural Instinct really out of the question for you?? Honestly I have raised a lot of collie pups and none have thrived so well as those i started on NI. You can feed it to your adult dog too!!! do you have a pets at home near you? They sell Wainrights Trays which are fairly decent if you really wont get NI>

If you must feed tins try Butchers tripe loaf and if you don't want raw look at Naturediet. This will probably suit your other dog too.
Bakers is the equivilent of rearing a child on MacDonalds & blue smarties, Ceasar is more a Ginsters pasty.

Love it! My puppies start on Tesco`s best mince at two WEEKS old, hand fed to start with, and by four weeks in a bowl as normal.Meat/raw eggs/chicken carcases ..raw.. and for some a bit of low protein complete added, that will give great body condition
:D

Just adding my view that Bakers really is the most appalling dog 'food'.

When I first got my collie pup at 8 weeks, he was lovely with me but very snappy with anyone else. He came from a fantastic home and had the best start but he was very much a one woman dog. He worked for some of his life but was more of a pet than anything and he continued to be snappy all his life.

i used frontline spot on and i will be looking into food, bakers biscuits is what i have fed my 4 yo dog for 3 years now and she is perfectly healthy but will change hers as well.
