Is this unreasonable? (livery related)

In some ways us liveries are a little bit like benefits scrounges that we often moan about. We expect yard owners to subsidise our hobby !

Well I don't know about that lol. YOs choose this way of life and most know there is little profit in only having liveries without a sideline business (or two!) propping the livery business up. I don't feel sorry for us YOs in the slightest, it's a choice after all and if we can't make it work either financially or are incapable of running a smooth-going yard then we probably shouldn't be in the job.

Personally I couldn't live with this either. Turn out is one of the most important things for me. I'm lucky that even this time of year my girl goes out about 7.30am (a bit later at weekends) and comes in about 4pm. I would not even consider a yard with restricted turn out.

I am also lucky enough to have access to great hacking and a decent school. If I can't ride my horse I figure I may as well get a hamster instead.

I have to travel 25 minutes ( about 12 miles) to get to the yard, but I prefer to compromise on location than grazing or riding.

I suggest finding a compromise between the current yard and the 45 minute journey. Surely there must bring other yards closer by with better turnout?
