So no, misogynist is just as valid a useage as misogynistic.

I do agree though; if one is going to be prejudiced it is important to do so with correct grammer.

Of course it's a valid usage - couldn't agree more with gramm ar

being correct though.

I was pointing out that it wasn't used in its correct context.

Flintus is being misogynistic
Flintus is a misogynist

etc etc

Flintus - no harm meant - just proving a point!

No no no misogynist is also an adverb as well as a noun like sexist. I can be misogynist as well as being a misogynist.

Anyway, back to the point, I agree with Vicijp, it's a good thing. I never heard of any of that ranchgirl stuff. My mum used to deal in SJ ponies when I was younger, and she used to like ponies with a "jumper's bump". I have honestly never heard of a hunters bump, but I should think it's similar.

Wow, I never realised jumpers' bumps were so popular. OK let's see if we can pick apart a delusion here:

ranchgirl quote 1 "I was giving the person helpful advice, have you got a problem with that"

Yes I've got a problem with it, it is not helpful if you pass on incorrect or misleading information. As it happens you were passing on incorrect and misleading information so you were being particularly unhelpful.

ranchgirl quote 2 "I offered constructive advice, better than anybody else come up with, and I thought it to be rather good"

No you didn't offer any advice, you copied some dodgy information from a website which is substantially misleading. On what basis did you think it was good? Did it sound impressive so you thought it must be right ?

ranchgirl quote 3 "As neither poster has asked me in an appropriate manner..."

I asked you as follows: "Yes I'd like to know the source of the information too since it is not what I have always understood a jumpers' bump to be! "

Can you explain what is inapropriate about that ?

Let's face it you get broadly 2 types of people - those who genuinely want to be helpful are quite guarded about what they say and are always happy to answer questions about their views. Those who want to be seen to know things are blase about what they say and get embarrassed/uncooperative when questioned because it kicks away the illusion of knowledge they are hiding behind.

So come on ranchgirl admit it, you're not interested in whether this post produces helpful information for Mixie or whether it leads to a correct definition of jumpers bump, you're just interested in you not being shown to be foolish and ignorant.
