It’s definitely Thursday today - is no-one posting it...???

I'm REALLY hoping to do a fun ride on Saturday so hoping we have minimal snow tomorrow and it can do what it likes on Sunday! I haven't been on a fun ride all year so excited about this one :D

I actually have plans... For once...

Taking the new mare out for her first outing. Hopefully she'll be as sensible as she has been about everything else. Decided a bit of TREC with her little-big brother would be the easiest introduction for her, so I'm taking Fergus to do the Open, as he's an old hand at it, and then handing him over to another HHOer to do the Pairs with me and the Orange One. That way she can watch Fergus do his thing from the sidelines, has her wingman nearby throughout and we don't have to do anything she takes a dislike to. But given that she's meant to be polocrosse training after Christmas, she'd better get with the programme, fast!

Hopefully the weather won't be too awful. It was truly grim today.

Supposedly, we have a lesson on Saturday morning, and RC dressage competition on Sunday.

However I'm not sure about either of them happening to be honest, as there is snow forecast here for most of the night, and might wake up to god knows what :(

I'm also lacking in motivation a bit TBH, we've dome sooo much recently (including out both Sat and Sun for two of the last three weekends) so a lazy one might be just whats needed....

Sounds like a good plan JFTD. Hope you have a good first outing with her.

I haven't really accounted for the weather this weekend so hopefully that won't interfere with my plans. Yard Xmas show Saturday so we will be dressing up in silly outfits doing appropriately themes Xmas activities. F is chilled so generally takes these things in his stride and doesn't mind the jingly bells or flappy elves. Then a real gear change as I am hoping to go drag hunting on Sunday. Revised plan after the 1st outing is to go with him completely tacked up and ready to rock, leave him on the lorry until the last minute and then chuck myself on. Aiming to avoid the scope for him to fidget and faff and wind us both up!

OK, I will give it a go,

Saturday going to do some clear round showjumping at a lovely yard whose owner lets a few of us "locals" come along when she organises a yard activity.

on Sunday, we are out doing dressage, Novice 30, for my local riding club - i am a late entry stand in due to lame rider/horse, there is plenty in the test to keep us on our toes - so wish us luck :-)

I'm off to my first EVER showing show on Sat!! Arghh!! Eeeek! (well, if it's not snowed off, that is...) Just a local thing. Not sure how my mare will be, and if she has ever done anything like it (only had her 6 months). We shall see... But quite excited!

Not looking forward to giving her a bath tomorrow. There's a LOT of white on her, I might have to rely quite heavily on the chalk block!!

Slightly lacking in plans here, it's nice to catch your breath sometimes, worked out that the friend who came to meet Salty last week - who lives all of 3 or 4 miles away - I haven't seen for almost 12 months :D Ooops!
So planning a proper natter with her. Plus probably ought to do some thinking about *whispers* wedding planning, almost a month drifted by already, slightly dazed :o

But of course there is always horse stuff to do, loading practice for Salty, Pony Club rally in the school on the weekend so we will be hacking. Kira might box off to do some arena hire if it's not too miserable. Spend a bit of time with the old dears in the field. Then lesson on Tuesday to extend the weekend, and Olympia on Wednesday to straddle the weeks :p

I have another weekend of social stuff, I don’t know what’s happening to me! Yard Christmas dinner on Friday, then a party in London on Saturday. So no exciting horsey plans but I’ll make up for it next week as we’re off to AM Dressage on Tuesday/ Wednesday. I may see you there MP?! No idea what time our lessons are as YO has booked it, but I’m hoping to take both my Spanish boys.

I shall be freezing my whatsits off on the side of a mountain in a snowstorm (probably), holding three horses while a film crew dithers about twiddling with lights and camera knobs. Then I'll heave some ungainly actor up and try and get them all facing in the right direction....welcome to my world.

Ouch :(

My hubby did a couple of stints as a mounted extra in the early days of GOT, and it gave him a real eye opener into the 'back stage' aspects of film making and all the waiting around lol....

Lol!! Hopefully the actor will be good looking at least...?!

No real plans for me, but it will be nice to be back riding, having been away for a few more weeks. Hopefully some hacking if the weather isn't too bad, otherwise will stick to the school! Pony Club AGM on sunday afternoon, including a bake-off which I'll be spending saturday making something for!

I am supposed to be doing a SJ clinic on Saturday but they are forecasting strong winds and snow here sooooo ... Well, we'll see! Fingers crossed though, as I can only jump share pony in lessons, but can only fit in a lesson when there's a clinic (unless I fancy jumping under the floodlights, but my eyesight is bad enough as it is, thank you). Then, as a friend is having a big birthday party on Saturday night, I suspect Sunday might involve pyjamas and watching Geneva horse show on the TV!

Oh yeah, they're usually pretty. Also usually either nervous, terrified or wildly overconfidant, worried about their hair and moaning that the horse is defective because the steering is "broken"....

I am quite excited about Sunday, going to a clinic to give side saddle a go for the 1st time! And its indoors so happy days. :)

I doubt its going to make me a lady though. ;)

I'm meant to be writing a conference paper (deadline Wednesday, erk) and marking but I'm hoping I can find some time to go for a little hack :). Had a play around on our short walk the other day and I can confirm that all the lateral work buttons are still installed!

I ~think~ she's going to need hoof boots in front when we start doing longer hacks so she's being fitted for a pair of Scoots next week.

if weather ok I am planning to try BN and Disco at local venue. If course is OK on Friday I ill take both horses on the Sat. Never actually tried that before!

And you can always wander a bit while throwing them up :p

That *may* have crossed my mind ;)

Lol, I can imagine all of the above all too well, sadly..!

Weekly flat lessons tomorrow. I’ve finally been allowed to go free range with the baby so suspect we will be working on our slightly iffy steering. Not quite sure what the plan is with Raz - Trainer mentioned working towards trying a medium test in a couple of months so I suspect we’ll probably start looking at some of the new movements once she’s been over my latest test videos with a fine-toothed comb. ;)

SuperGroom and I have six to ride between us tomorrow and Saturday so will need to get my chores done early if I’m going to be finished in time to meet a friend from my last yard for dinner.

Nothing planned for Sunday - had an arena hire booked but they’ve cancelled.

Quiet one for me, beach ride and lesson on Saturday and no horse time on Sunday :-(
However, Olympia on Wednesday. So excited.

am I the only one that posts plans with a real sickly feeling of nerves creeping in. any hints to help with this?

We had a great lesson this evening with our regular trainer. For one reason and another we haven't had a lesson with her in quite a few weeks, but she was pleased with what she saw. Straightness training clinic on Saturday morning. Non horsey day (other than mucking out etc.) on Sunday, as I need to get some 'home' stuff done before heading off to Olympia with friends for three days next week. Have fun everyone whatever you are up to! :) x

Language is powerful - I tell myself it's "excitement" not nerves. These days I feel genuinely excited so I think it's helped...
