The ground is hard, the fields are parched and brown and the horses have all been in the home fields in case of lightening ..... but not a drop of rain.

Am I wrong to be jealous of those of you who have had downpours??!!

Not at all. I was desperate for a bit of rain, just maybe not days worth!
Its pretty dismal here but it’s not ill makingly hot and I’m hoping we get a bit of grass growing again. I have muddy horses though! That’s a shock to the system ?

So sorry you haven’t had any rain. We have had lovely soaking rain since Thursday. Such a relief after literally baking for a week.

It's drizzled all day here. Heavy rain for about 30 minutes yesterday which flooded car parks at work. Still drizzly now and set for the rest of the Weekend. My fields have been brown and bare for about 6 weeks now. I'm feeding hay in August!

My stable flooded. Completely flooded. Huge bed dug out and replaced. There's a repeat forecast this week.

The gallops has lots of surface at the bottom but nothing at the top. Our sand tracks are a little less sandy and the grass means muzzles and loose poo.

If I could send you our downpours I'd like to but you might not welcome it :p:D

Feeling very autumnal in our part of West Yorkshire.

Misty, grey and wet.

I picked the wrong time to set up a track system in my field. Think it'll be a muddy mess by the end of the day!

Mine will be in from mid aft today as lightening forecast until the morning. We’ve had some rain but ground still rock solid and cracked!

I’m so relieved after last week that I’m enjoying the rain, even whilst it came during yesterday’s xc lesson. Luckily didn’t get too soaked but the ground was great as a result. Massive downpours on the drive home with the roads overflowing.

I've just had to clear out my stable, the rain had soaked the whole bed. Pony is in tonight as her part of the field is just a series of puddles. Still, at least it's not too hot now!

Its raining!!! At last - been steady since the early hours. fingers crossed with the warm weather and a little sunshine forecast the grass should start to grow again. It pains me to feed hay to field kept ponies in august!

perhaps if you drop them off over the english channel so we just get a little bit here. We really need rain, but I can't say I'm upset that we have clear skys and a breeze today.

We have yellow weather warns today. Our place is right on the outskirts of the flood warning area for the harbour. I know I asked for rain, but salt water was not what I expected.

It really is turning into a funny old year isn't it!

I envy you in an amicable way. We haven't had rain for a long time. The animals are not doing well, the plants are withering away. You have to water constantly. And in order to save water, you have to use moisture meters. When I was looking for them, I reviewed the sea of reviews. Here https://homemakerguide.com/best-moisture-meter/ found a detailed description of each. I chose the average for the price, ordered 2 pieces just in case. In principle, it still saves, and there is no such water consumption as without a moisture meter. I used to use watering by eye and paid a lot of money for it.
