It is done.

So sorry for your loss. But it sounds like you have some wonderful memorys right upto the very end. ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) to you. xxx

RIP Obi, you were truly loved. xx

We spent the last couple of hours together in the sunshine this morning.

He would wander along eating the tasty grass on the verge, and then wander back over to me to tell me to scratch his belly :)

The vet arrived and my good friend, Fiona, hovered by me for support and to take over if I wanted to walk away.

The vet sedated him and I rubbed his head and kissed him goodbye.

Then I handed him over to Fiona and walked away. I just couldn't watch him drop.

The last memory I have is him looking at me to see what treat I was going to get for him :)

Fiona and the vet told me he just sank down and went to sleep in the sun.

It was peaceful.

Your emotionally stronger than me Oberon - when I lost my mare I could not face coming back here on the web so quickly .

Glad it when so well and peaceful for you both.

Hard to know what to say at this time. So just thinking of you :(:(:(:(:(

I find the support from here helps me :). There are people here (including yourself) who have done this all before and know just how I'm feeling. That makes me feel better.

Besides - I'm fairly experienced at grieving now :o

This has brought me to tears. What a truely lovely end for a horse. It's a way I am sure we all wish we could go when it comes to our time. RIP beautiful boy x
