Itchy Dog help please.

My collie has started stratching a lot. Started about 2 weeks ago. Ive de flead him, even taken him the the dog beauty salon for a wash, trim and dry. Ive changed his diet to rice and nature diet. Any other ideas please. No bald patches just v itchy.

Get rid of grains all together. No rice.

Could he have come into contact with something like a new carpet, household product etc?

Some dogs are also intolerant of high protein levels, check his food.

What age is he? Some dogs do not show allergic reactions until adulthood/maturity as it has built up over time but it does not mean that something long standing like diet or pollen allergy has caused it.

My old golden retriever had same problems but was ok on gluten and grain free .Try meat only wish I had know about barf when he was around.

Very old fashioned remedy my Nan told me was to put a lump of sulphur in their water to cool the blood, never had to try it hough.

I was told same thing but it didnt work on chester (rip)

B has a lump in his water, but then again, what with the antihistamines, low protein, hypo-allergenic food and me getting my act together handling wise, I am not sure what is working best

I would check out sweet relief - it's on ebay. Made huge difference to my friend's terrier with flakey itchy skin. It was covered in sores on its legs and backside but is so much better.
