My husband has decided that he wants a big manual labour project to get his teeth into and help him get fit and it seems Merlin and I are going to be the beneficiaries :D By the end of the summer he aims to have:

1) re-done the field drains in the field shelter field
2) put in several more tons of hardcore to expand the current hard-standing area and raise it by about 6"
3) built another field shelter in the gap between the current one and the feed/tack shed
4) fenced in hardcore area
5) covered hardcore in pea gravel

So I'll have one 18x12ft shelter, one 27ftx12ft shelter and a gated area which can be turned out on in any weather, even if I have to shut the gate leading out to the field. All I need to do now is save up enough for a friend for Merlin to share it with - and I already have a candidate in mind ;)

Anything else I should be putting on my wish list while he's drawing up the plans??

Please can mine come to u for schooling livery? He has the basics of washing up and hoovering but needs schooling on the horse side of things. Let me know a rate. He's a fast learner but lacks impulsion.

Husband schooling livery - great idea! Do you just want him trained in horse-related DIY or do you want the full package, which includes cookery? (Yes, I really am that lucky, he does all the cooking as well!)

Wow! Mine is excellent on the cleaning/housework side, gardens, decorates and does all horsey jobs felt quite smug until I read this!

Wow! All mine ever says is 'bloody horses' :D he will repair fencing/stabling if I need it, but nothing else.
Then again he does ALL the cooking (YESSSSS!!!!) and quite a lot of housework, so I should be thankful for small mercies, I guess :)

Could I send mine to you for the horse-related course once he has finished the home DIY one? He's really getting into it and talking about going in a plastering course!

My husband has broken his little finger trying to load Doris today. I'm not entirely sure how he's managed to do it. He somehow managed to catch it on a tie ring as Doris shoved him.

He's not a happy bunny...

He also has a swollen nose from where she headbutted him. She doesn't like travelling much.

My hubby is a star!
