Jade Goody R.I.P

Maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age but does anyone else think it wraps things up too "nicely" that she died on mothers day? Doesn't mean its not tragic that she had died now however. I really hope the coverage drops off.

I think I'm probably a bit cynical too, because that's exactly what I thought too. Don't jump on me guys - it's very sad and all that, but the whole media circus was created to raise as much money as possible for her boys - nothing wrong in that at all, and hats off to her and all that.

But I did wonder this morning whether it was all just a bit too contrived - the public is extremely kind and forgiving and following the out pouring of grief on this forum alone is amazing, but the whole purpose behind the media coverage was to maximise public sympathy to encourage money for the boys. Who would have known if she had actually died on Saturday night, morning, or Friday night?

So I'm with Ezme in my cynicism. Doesn't make it any less sad for her family and friends - just that I don't trust Max Clifford not to create the most dramatic story he can - that's his job, and he's very good at it. The cleverest thing Jade did was to employ him as her publicist.

RIP Jade

You did more wonderful things in the last 2 months than most will do in their lifetime!

I hope its much brighter up there, you can watch your boys knowing you did your absolute best for your beautiful children.

Its a shame their are still some cynics about to make dirty of what you did!!

Poor Jade. Inevitable, but still a shock. I'm so sad for her two boys, and her mother. Jack will have to pull his socks up now, and start behaving. I'm sure Jeff will do Jade proud bringing the boys up. They won't ever forget their mother, and that is partially in thanks to the media. She tried desperately to stay alive til mother's day, even tried to keep herself awake so she wouldn't fall asleep incase she didn't wake up. I'm so so glad she went peacefully. She was incredibly courageous, and I salute her. She may not have been the sharpest tool in the box, but she's given hundreds upon hundreds of women the kick up the bum to get tested so they don't face what she has, and I think that's amazing. R.I.P. Jade. x

sorry to be so cynical but where were the press and tv coverage when both my husband and father in law died from this awful disease both of them young and in good health prior to diagnosis and short illness there are so many ordinary people die from this disease every day with no thought or compassion from strangers I feel Jade has milked her illness for all it was worth

Hi Yeeharider,

sorry to hear that, the truth is there was no money to be be made out of your tragic situation.

This is a case of mass hysteria whipped up by the press and media.

I think that that's unfair - Jade has always done fly on the wall documentaries about her life - why should she stop mid series just because she found out she was dying? That was her job afterall - and what an outcry if someone (ie not Jade) "lost" their job because they found out they had cancer? Unfair dismissal would be screamed from the tops of buildings - and Jade was no different - she continued with her life as best she could - and may she now rest in peace watching over her children.

With regards to the posts about other people having the illness and not receiving the outpouring of grief or financial return - Everyone is aware of someone who has struggled with this illness (and other terminal illnesses too) - just because people are sad for Jade doesn't mean to say we're not sad for the other people suffering too (believe me I am desperately sad for my friend who's wife died of cancer last year leaving a 5 year old son - motherless on mother's day

I think it's just that everyone "knew" Jade as her life was so public.

i think we all know someone who has been lost to the cruel disease, Jade took advantage of an opportunity - you should feel thankful that she has brought attention to it, not slating her - you will also know just how much it must have taken for her to remain in the public eye - there is no benefit for her to have done what she did, she is dead!

So sad to happen to anyone and i can't believe some of the hateful comments I have read to be honest (and I don't just mean on this thread). I never watched BB, can't say I knew much about Jade but noone deserves to die so young.

To say hateful things about someone when they've gone is just despicable even if you think some things they may have said and done whilst they were alive were wrong. It makes you 100 times uglier a person to make such nasty comments.

There are 2 young boys who have lost their mother. That is tragic.

RIP Jade - I honestly think that you were a wonderful soul.

And to all the haters - shame on you.

I really can't believe the comments I've read on here-absolutely disgusting! Tbh, if I was in the same situation and anyone at all was interested I would milk it for all it was worth to ensure financial security for my children. I think it's always been the same for Jade, damned if she did and damned if she didn't.

I'm with Whee on this subject. Jade was a celebrity always in the public eye, She was a good Mum and has provided for her boys making sure they will never go without. How can jade have milked her illness??? she died within 4 months of finding out that she was terminally ill. To all the cynics what would you do if you found out you were dying? lay there and feel sorry for yourself or put everything in order?
RIP Jade & god bless her boys xx
