Hi All
My 6 year old connie has a click in one of his hind legs. It started about a year ago, he might grow out of it as hes only this year really properly filling out. It doesnt cause him any problems lamesness or stiffness, (I'd just rather he didnt do it) im working on building his hind end up to see if it will go away. I got a the Equine America glucosamine supplement yesterday to try to see if it will also help but now im wondering about the MSM in it (to be honest it was an impulse buy).
Once a horse goes on this when they dont have any problem such as arhritis do they tend to become dependant on it or any supplement for that matter? The MSM would be the most concerning to me as its anti-inflammatoy I dont want him to get a flare up if he were to come off it. I see that cortaflex is ment to be good and it doent have MSM though its twice the price. My plan was to put him on the glucosomine for the two months the tubs lasts for to see if the click goes and them hopefully take him off it, when hes built up. I just dont want to get into a situation where he becomes dependant on it when he doesnt really need it.
Im getting the chiropractor out as soon as i can get an appointment for his annual MOT so maybe I should hold off on the supplement till I can talk to him about it?
