Jumping Dizz Today - I came off (pics)

Bloomin' 'eck that was one hell of a dismount! Hope you're doing okay MrsM, not to traumatised I hope :)

Before the incident you looked absolutely fab! Dizz has filled out and grown into her legs a little bit more since the last time I saw her! :) xx

Thankies thankies thankies all :D

I signed off early last night as was a tad tired (it's old age :D).

All the nice words are so kind. The camera was also very kind as a number of times Dizz jumped and I merely stayed with her thanks to osmosis with the stirrups! Oh, and a handful of mane lol :rolleyes::D

This morning is interesting :D. Sore bits that couldn't make themselves heard yesterday are popping up and saying Good Morning! :D. Ouch in more areas, but marginally less ouch on back, so improvement me thinks :D. Back to the hot water bottle on my back. Bliss :D

Won't get to hack out with Friend on New Lad today. His first pootle around the block :(. If I can sit in the car okay then I'll follow. D1 is going to keep her company on one of them.

Hope I can move tomorrow! Apart from the loooooooooooong drive to work (face to face meetings so have to go in), I have booked lessons every evening :D. We will get there! :D (no idea where 'there' is as yet, but hey, it'll be fun finding out).

This morning I can take the weight of the laptop on my legs, so a definate improvement :D

Dizzy is indeed beautiful. I know some people say I should give her up and get 'something more sensible', but she doesn't spook (so little as to not count), is kind to handle (so long as one stays 'boss', but one can still be loving and gentle with her), she trusts me, she doesn't really buck/rear/bob off (one rear and one buck in the eighteen months I've had her - pleanty of going backwards, bunny hops and spinning, but I can cope with those - if she wanted me off I wouldn't stand a chance). Yes, maybe I should have gone for a big, kind schoolmaster, but I fell in love with the Dizzy one.

Browband :D. D2 bought it for me. It wouldn't go on Dizz's comfort bridle, so the nice Morris and Nolan people rearranged it and put the pretty part on one that would :D :D :D

Glad you are feeling marginally better, the photos are super, no way should you ever contemplate any other horse, she is truly fab(as you know!!)
Trouble is we don't bounce as well as we get older........

Glad you're feeling a little better then :)

And MrsM - no matter what anyone else says, keep going with Dizz. You look BRILLIANT together, she's an amazing horse, and you've come so far with her. Having updates and pics from you always makes my day.. even if they're scary stunt tricks like this :p xx

Ooo ouch! :(

Try not to let it put you off tho as you are both doing so well! Little blips happen.

Go back to slightly smaller and get your confidence back up. Soon see you flying round those jumps again :)

As for being sore, rest, pain killers, tea and chocs usally help.

Sending you a big (but gentle) hug.

Lovely to see you have fun with Dizz, hope your feeling better today...few bruises I bet but you'll of taken it on the chin come back stronger knowing you :D Dizz looks to be enjoying her self there, I recon in time you and Dizz will be doing some comps soon!

Good on my luv, keep it up :)

No don't even think of giving her up, she is a beautiful animal, clearly nothing nasty in her and you look to be doing great, there but for the grace of God go all of us 'older' riders still trying to progress our skills. We don't bounce well and hugs to you I feel your pain having a bad back too, but you do it all with a grin, a positive attitude and obviously great enjoyment. Thank goodness for horsey daughters to stp into the breach when necessary heh!! Keep it up and hope the week not too painful for you xx

MrsM that was some great jumping before you came off! Both you and Dizzy looked like you were both enjoying it and even Dizzy smiling! You're both doing really well and just a shame you are now sore...hope it's easing a bit by today. You've come so far since your big fall last year so take some credit for the great progress you've made :)

What a gorgeous ginger sausage there your riding :p, lovely, all those cross poles in a row, made me cross eyed looking at it, it looks like you were doing really well until the lady watching blew you off :D.

Looks a bit like what we were doing a couple of weeks back on our lesson, it aint easy is it ;)

Ouchies sounds like a painful fall, hope you feel better soon. Btw, is your RI that lady in the pink gilet in the second to last of the first lot of pics? I think i recognise her :p

What a lovely horse and fantastic photos ! Hope your able to get back on board soon ! Please may I ask what the surface is in your menage ?, it looks great. Take a glass of wine, hope the back feels better soon :)

I used to ride on a similar surface which was shredded airline tyres! not sure where they got them from but had massive see through bags of them in a store.

Better than sand i thought anyway
:)

Hats off to you, Ma'am. Bl**dy impressive and even the fall looks dead stylish. I glow green with envy and am not worthy.
PS All now quietening on the western front thanks to your advice

Oh you great bunch of sweeties you!! :D :D I'm all a-blush :D.

The Dizz is indeed a star and I love her. She was stressed after my, um, dismount, poor lass.

Back to the absolute basics for us :D. We will get there :D

Lessons should be fun . Have four booked this week :rolleyes:.

Only snag is I can't drive to client's site tomorrow; could only drive the two miles to the yard. I can't seem to take a deep breath when I'm sat down, and of course the more I can't the more I want to

Gawd, I've just read back through your replies as I wanted to respond to each one, but they've brought a tear to my eye and I am not worthy. Please know that they mean a lot, each one, and I am greatly touched.

Ha... i have one of those too... spooking at speed is not fun!! lol

x

Haha, No it's not  I would have survived the spook had I not pulled him in the mouth when trying to drag myself back into the saddle which then caused him to rear, spin and shot backwards all at once  I love my horse :p :D

You both look fab!! I feel your pain too, my youngster bronced and bronced today until i went flying over his head - you looka bit more elegant than i was lol

Always a pleasure looking at photos of Diz - she's a lovely girl. Poor you! I hope you feel less sore tomorrow. Lots of TLC and hot choc should help.

That's not a fall, that's an elegant unplanned dismount!
Lol! Seriously though, you both look ace - very well done!
Those jumps are when the height starts to become serious for us non SJ-ers! ;););)
Fantastic, keep up the good work!
K x

Wheee, she is loving it isn't she! BSJA here you come!

You both look great together, and those jumps are decent sizes too, so big well dones to you both. The fall looks like it was just an unlucky moment, since you look so good on all the other photos. Hope your back is ok, have a nice hot bath and lots of rest x
