I have found out that almost everyone here uses a tablespoon of pure pumpkin from a tin mixed in with a dogs food if they have a dodgy tum.

I didn't believe them so asked my vet and did some research and when Abe came up with the runs the other day i tried it!

I am a convert!
It really works.

It has to be plain not the pie filling kind.

Thats my tip for the day :D

I think I've seen it in Lidl or Aldi (somewhere like that!) I had an American/Finnish flatmate who went mad for the stuff :) It was about 5 years ago now, but I'd imagine you can still get it there - I'll admit I've not really looked since I stopped living with her!

This made me think, my dogs never get dodgy tummmys (except for sea water) *of course now I say that, they will*
Cool tip though, even though Im of the starve and clear the system out:rolleyes::D ( I am a mean mummy)

Natural yoghurt works a treat for our GSD if her tummy is talking loudly - like loud enough to hear over the TV!!!
Just a tablespoonful before her dinner and her tummy is silent once again :)

I also do the 24hr starve thing and then give natural yoghurt once feeding has resumed. I've heard that giving a raw egg in their food helps to bind them up again but I've never tried it myself.

Kaolin and morphine-amazing stuff. Available at independent chemists with the morphine still in or just kaolin from big chemists. Works on humans too!;)
