Well I have been a bit busy this morning - decided to go shopping again
crazy.gif
. I found a horse for sale not too far from me the other day so I had been emailing and asking all about said horse. He seemed nice, bit spendy but he did seem worth the price and owner seemed lovely and wanted horse to go to a good home as a priority.

Nothing surprising so far eh? At least not to some of the older members on here. Well there is one catch......anyone remember what colour of horse I seriously dislike?? Well that's what he is
crazy.gif
.

So was a tiny bit put off by the colour however I still thought he was worth going to see as everything the lady said sounded positive. So I decided to go out and see him this morning; with the obligatory cash in the back pocket just in case.

What can I say - something is seriously going wrong with me or my eyes! But I loved his colour; he was fabulous; such a kind and sweet horse and nothing at all phased him......so I bid her down a little, she accepted. Jobs a good 'un. I said I would go and get the cash from my car. On entering her house with the cash - she then says, oh do you want his saddle and bridle? Now this is NOT usual over here to sell horses with anything more than a headcollar. I said I didn't really need anymore tack; she says to please take them as they are taking up loads of room, so I say okay. She passes them over to me and then she says.....ooh do you want his rug? LOL!! Of course THAT I jump at the chance of
grin.gif
. I am always in need of rugs. So now I am feeling quite good as I managed to get the horse for the price I would have been happy to buy him at plus all these bits and bobs on top for free.

Anyway, he is 12 years old, Quarter Horse (obviously) and I am collecting him tomorrow morning.

New horse - picture was taken a few weeks ago when the snow was on the ground, and I swear he is much darker and has way more dapples now than in this picture.

So now you've had your shocker - I am now wondering, can I see a pattern here? I was slightly put off Golden because of her colour; well now I actually quite like her colour.

Here's our first palomino, Golden. I think they have the same bottom.....

Anyway name suggestions would be good. He has a name BUT I really really don't like it so would prefer to change it. I am so useless at naming horses so any help would be appreciated.

Tia you and I feel the same way about this particular colour way BUT.....I really, really like this guy too and Im not usually overboard about Quarter Horses. He is VERY nice indeed.

I love it when you shop!

I knew you'd be shopping soon!!! I really like him. Golden is scrummy!

Bailey or Harvey (as in Harvey's Bristol Cream and Baileys the drink too. I named Bailey after the drink. He was called Sandy when I got him

He's stunning, there's something very special about him.

Names: Sundance, Dollar, Argonaut, Dusty, Charm, Phoenix, Aries, Hermes, Eagle, Flight, Illusion, Nimbus, Phantom, Sable, Talisman.

He's lovely. No name suggestions I'm afrid, but I guess anything along the theme of sunshine, sunride etc ould suit him.
You certainally have an eye for a horse and a good bargain.

You are very naughty Miss Tia.... I think you should call him Josh - he is the same colour as chicken korma but calling him Korma is mean so Rogan Josh it is

I havent any great name suggestions, but he is so pretty, (in fact he looks a bit like a lady pony) even though I also don't like palominos much.

Lol, I shall wrap your knuckles when I see you young lady! I think you should call him Icewine - as he is pretty much that colour, or Custard
smile.gif

Helpful suggestions as ever from me!

I like palominos so if you ever get bored with him..........I had one when I was small, he was called Apple Pie.

I love your "I've been shopping/Guess what I've got" posts, this doesn't bring numbers up to 13 does it?
frown.gif
Oh, if it does it's actually OK because Clouds little one can count as a half, three quarters for a bit.

I am not superstitious, I just don't tempt fate with 13 of anything, just in case.

Thank you Gina and Acelight.
smile.gif
He's much nicer in the flesh and I think that photo that the lady took of him really doesn't do him justice. I'll get a nicer one tomorrow when I bring him home with me.

Airedale: I really like that name; but I know what would happen here; he would end up being called Monty by my boarders....and I've already had a Monty, so can't call him that.

Thank you madhector and St Bernard.

Spaniel; do you think we are getting to that age?
crazy.gif
I honestly do not know why this is happening - could it be because we are nearing our Golden Years
wink.gif
cool.gif
.

I know
crazy.gif
. God we must be getting old or senile or something, LOL!!

Now Miss Weezy - you may well have given me an idea here....how about Nugget? As in a nugget of gold?

I didn't know you didn't like palominos.

No, I've never liked them. I was almost aghast at myself when I bought Golden last year
crazy.gif
. But she has really grown on me. This guy is much much darker than her though; she is almost cream at this time of year whereas he is very deep gold. Apparently he goes very very dark and dappley in the summer.

I knew you would be pleased to see another convert LOL!!
smile.gif

You must have LOADS of names for these "odd" coloured animals
grin.gif
. Go on.....you can tell me
