Well I have been a bit busy this morning - decided to go shopping again
. I found a horse for sale not too far from me the other day so I had been emailing and asking all about said horse. He seemed nice, bit spendy but he did seem worth the price and owner seemed lovely and wanted horse to go to a good home as a priority.
Nothing surprising so far eh? At least not to some of the older members on here. Well there is one catch......anyone remember what colour of horse I seriously dislike?? Well that's what he is
.
So was a tiny bit put off by the colour however I still thought he was worth going to see as everything the lady said sounded positive. So I decided to go out and see him this morning; with the obligatory cash in the back pocket just in case.
What can I say - something is seriously going wrong with me or my eyes! But I loved his colour; he was fabulous; such a kind and sweet horse and nothing at all phased him......so I bid her down a little, she accepted. Jobs a good 'un. I said I would go and get the cash from my car. On entering her house with the cash - she then says, oh do you want his saddle and bridle? Now this is NOT usual over here to sell horses with anything more than a headcollar. I said I didn't really need anymore tack; she says to please take them as they are taking up loads of room, so I say okay. She passes them over to me and then she says.....ooh do you want his rug? LOL!! Of course THAT I jump at the chance of
. I am always in need of rugs. So now I am feeling quite good as I managed to get the horse for the price I would have been happy to buy him at plus all these bits and bobs on top for free.
Anyway, he is 12 years old, Quarter Horse (obviously) and I am collecting him tomorrow morning.
New horse - picture was taken a few weeks ago when the snow was on the ground, and I swear he is much darker and has way more dapples now than in this picture.
So now you've had your shocker - I am now wondering, can I see a pattern here? I was slightly put off Golden because of her colour; well now I actually quite like her colour.
Here's our first palomino, Golden. I think they have the same bottom.....
Anyway name suggestions would be good. He has a name BUT I really really don't like it so would prefer to change it. I am so useless at naming horses so any help would be appreciated.
