Just for fun - what's your dream breed?

I've only owned 3 horses, 2 were pure criollos and the third is a criollo x american paint. I think a criollo x arabian would be pretty amazing.

sorry, I think it would be a terrible mix. Two totally different attitudes.
having had several different breeds then if I had to do it all over again it would be solely Crabbet arabs.

Arabs were my dream from childhood so when I bought my first horse as an adult that's what I got. When I bought my second horse I got another Arab. When OH decided he wanted to give it a go we got him an allegedly IDx (no breeding in his passport). OH is way too big and heavy for an Arab which is a shame as I think he would have stuck to riding if he could have had the joy and comfort of a twinkly toed Arab instead of the movement of a big horse, which hurt his fragile back.

High on the list of contenders for me would be Highland, Criollo and baroque type Iberian, but in reality I think I'm happier with my easy Arabs.

They're about 155 cm at withers, occasionally pony sized and occasional higher. But usually about there.

Welsh x TB or Anglo Arab. Nothing too big and always something with a good, loose walk.

When I was young I always wanted a Morgan horse but my parents couldn't afford for me to have my own horse/pony - only just about afforded a lesson a week.

Monnington Morgans in Hereford went thru a phase of being quite high profile in the UK in the years after it was founded in 1975.

I have ridden hundreds of different horses of many types and breeds. For me a proper traditional connemara will always be top, especially if it's buckskin. I also love TB's and a cross of TB and connie.
As a child I always wanted a chestnut crabbet arab with four white socks. I have ridden many arabs and do love them too.

When I was younger I always wanted a Palomino Lusitano.

Now, all I want is something safe and laid back, doesn't need riding everyday to stay sane. Leg in each corner, stocky, easy keeper. Must enjoy fuss.

I can't afford a ready made pony, so purchased a Highland colt a few months back and hope he will be everything I want once under saddle.

I'm also lucky enough to have a couple of my dream ponies in my stable: PFS (poney français de selle) or French riding poneys. They combine all the best traits from all different European pony and even horse breeds. Pippin is roughly 25% Welsh cob, 25% connemara and 10% Arab. The rest is unknown or foreign pony.
I also have a great fondness for the French anglo-arabs and would like a lovely little mare in bay or black.
If I was collecting, also a little Welsh A, in blue roan if they even come in that colour ( have seen one, but not sure he was a pure breed) and a New Forest.

When I was little I loved Friesans , then Trigger (palomino)then Fury,(black) many of you are too young to know them . When I grew up it was Welsh/Tb , then my own trakhener /cob who was almost black and now it would be a safe 15 hand mare , lightweight cob build without huge feathers

Oh yes,Trigger,Champion and Fury! Good memories! Plus of course, Bullet and Rebel. I swear its because of those two I've had a life filled with Shepherds!!

It's a Haflinger for me. I have owned 2 in my lifetime and they are fab. Strong, clever, fun, versatile, willing and gorgeous and all in a pony sized package.

My dream breed isn't really a breed, its a type. I love SJ bred WBs. ideally with a bit of SF. Ironic really as I've barely left the ground in 20 years and absolutely do not need that type of horse.

I’ve had two SJ bred warmbloods one with Selle Francais in his breeding. Both have been super horses that have turned their hooves to most things. I also barely jump but am attracted to their physical type.

My PRE with a dash of Welsh is all the wrong bits of both temperament wise but I don’t think I’ve been as in love with a horse as him since my first pony (who is a batty little welsh, so I’ve been formed from birth to have a type ). Sticking with the theme my dream horse would be a very particular stamp of Welsh x TB, chestnut 4 whites with a blaze … I often browse the horsey websites hoping the right one will pop up, and the sales for a youngster but I haven’t yet seen one that fits my exact mental image. I’ve got the mini version though in my Welsh C close second would be an Anglo Arab I think

I would love a Black Forest Horse. I can't do photos, sorry. But then I do have 3 Fells, one an 18 month old home bred filly, a Cleveland Bay and a coloured gipsy cob, so as I'm already living some people's dreams I'm not complaining.

For the Morgan lovers! Here is my foundation bred gelding. He’s got a heck of a brain on him, clever and cheeky and fiery but not sharp. Very short back, athletic and decent paces when he wants to.

He’s had horrific luck medically, not common for the breed, but he also seems to be extremely tough for surviving things that he shouldn’t have survived!
