Just for fun - what's your dream breed?

I have some I like due to the looks but I probably wouldn't choose when it comes to riding.

I love the look of Rocky Mountain Horses, and I'd have one for leisure purposes.
I'd love an American Bashkir Curly for the looks.

I used to dream of a palomino quarter horse like Trigger.

For riding an Oldenburger would do it.

I don't think any of them would beat my Irish cob though 😂

@DressageCob I've met a couple of curlies and they are fascinating, the curly ear hair really gets me. They're weirdly soft and smell funny a bit like sheep. There was a lovely curly 4yo for sale that I really had to sit on my hands for he had a lovely temperament.

My dream was always Arabs but now I dream of an Arab that isn't grey, any other colour would be great with no white legs, just an Arab with a star would be my dream now 😆 Also love a Fell pony, one of those with a white star too although knowing my luck i'd end up with a grey one lol

I'm very fond of the all-rounder farm breeds like Morgans and Canadians. I too want to haul some logs and harrow a field and drive into town for groceries and go for a nice ride on the weekend!

I am also partial to Connemaras, since I knew a well-known breeder growing up, and met some VERY lovely ponies.

My childhood self wants an arab.

I'd love to have a North Swedish horse. Pretty light drafts, usually bay. Mostly for working in the woods and on the fields, drive around but not much riding, they're too wide for me.

So far I only have a mini version, who really does look like a miniature Nordsvensk. He's a Gotlandsruss, also a Swedish breed.
Yay! Me too. Top of my list. I used to ride one bareback my cousin's friend had as a child. Brexit has prevented sensible import costs now though. I also worry how well they'd fare on English grass.

I have a pre who is surprising me on so many levels. In fact she's turning out to be almost a bombproof kids pony when there is no expectations on performance.

A fjord is also high on my list.

They can be if they take the right bits of each, or slightly unfortunate if they take the wrong bits.
Knew a couple growing up, 2 were stunning the other 3 were...erm...functional 😅 lovely people but not head turners.

Great combination for endurance, spice/forward attitude, and a comfortable ride.

I owned for a few years my dream horse a TB x Trakener
Absolute roll royce of a ride with the power of the TB with a bit class movement from the Trakener. Enough blood to event and the moves for DR.

So another one of him would be great.

Failing that an unraced TB or 16.2 Anglo arab or a hispano arabe or just a pretty Heinz 57 with some blood and a love of life.
Or 1 of each 😁

Ooh just thought of another breed I’ve always admired. The Rocky Mountain horses. Love an Icelandic too very smart.
I would love to try a Rocky Mountain, I think I would love it!

I have two Icelandics and two Highlands, and they are my favourite breeds! My Icey is just proving to be fantastic (but quite sensitive and responsive - don’t need to use much leg at all!) and I think they’re the best hacking horses.
