Just got a Christmas card from Burgie....

Oh wow, will be gutted if Burgie stops! I've done 1* the last 2 years and love it. Its the event I used to spectate at as a young kid, never dreaming I'd compete at it. I will always suppot it, I wish others would too, especially those south of the border :(

It is well populated up here - there's a huge equestrian population (2nd to Newmarket I believe). I think the issue is simply that it is SO expensive to do BE, and up here there aren't nearly enough BE events - the very few there are are spread over a massive area (ie. whole of Scotland). This puts a lot of people off joining in the first place. I'm wondering it I can even afford to affiliate in 2011!

At the end of the day Burgie is a super event which deserves to be better supported. Hutton clashed with it this year which should never have been allowed to happen. I also believe that the showing classes often clash with other big showing events which would make class numbers dwindle there. I do think Burgie should definately consider holding BSJA classes, especially as the unaffiliated SJ ring I watched had loads of entries.

What?? And I thought we were having such fun - never had such s good excuse for intravenous chocolate and red bull, not to mention that hilarious game of aerial/roof vent removal

ok ok .... so u could probably twist my arm for another trip...... :D

Don't go without mentioning it to me. You never know, I could always find something to do and as you well know my arm takes very little twisting for a road trip.... ;)

In 2010 there were 90, 100 and novice one day classes on the sunday, unaffliated SJ on the Saturday and WH on the Thurs with Arena event on the friday so definately something for everybody.
