I was just out walking Danny and, well, he had a bit of a fracas with a cavalier pair.

I was about 100yards into out usual afternoon walk, D was on lead (which is about 6ft) and generally mooching about as he usually does. A woman comes in behind me, unbeknownst to me, with 2 cavis. Now, generally I'm good at noticing when other dogs come in but today I was busy picking up after D.

The woman, despite me clearly having my dog on a lead (it's bright yellow), lets her two off theirs. They promptly then charge up to D (she doesn't bother to call them back). Well, D goes into protective mode and lurches forward, pulling the lead through my fingers (causing nasty rope burns -owie-) and proceeds to grab one of them by the scruff and pin it.

The cavi made an awful noise, all screams, and the other went for ME and put a hole on my finger(no blood drawn) when I smacked D over the head to let go (which he did).

Cavi is fine, not even lost any fur.

I swore at the woman and told her to put her dogs on a lead and came home. I was so rattled I couldn't find the words to have a further go at her.

I apologize for the long post that probably makes no sense. I'm just very shook up.

She was very silly to lets her off when yours were on a lead right infront of her, her dogs were probably full fo excitement and nervous energy - very silly.

It happens all the time to me, people think that because D is very human friendly and idolises Tessie that he's gonna be friendly to all dogs when the truth is he's only friendly when they've been formally introduced :(

I'm certain that 90% of the dog walkers around here are just thick as the proverbial. Though I've never seen her before (and I hope I won't see her again).

Nothing to feel bad about, she was an idiot, if she could not keep her dogs away from yours without a lead on them and yours was on, she should not have let them off stupid wife, maybe she will learn a lesson from this.

It always astounds me how dog-ignorant many dog owners are! Unfortunately the "walker let dog off lead and it attacked mine on lead" seems to be a really frequent problem here.

Glad neither of you was seriously hurt!

Go danny, go danny, go danny!

No seriously now i'm of the opinion that if your that ignorant you deserve it so don't get yourself worked up over it not your fault at all.
