Am just having a bit of moan really and I do know that lots of people are having a tougher time of things but am beginning to get down now......
I broke my wrist on the 3rd January thanks to a particularly massive buck and then had to have 8 weeks off, the first 6 being unable to drive so having to rely on other people for lifts to yard etc. Everyone was fantastic but not being independent really doesn't suit me! Horse is basically put on 2 months holiday, lunged a few times a week, horsewalker everyday and turnout once a week.
Finally begin to get better, can drive and lunge my boy.....and he then goes lame. That was about 4 weeks ago, the only thing I can think that will have caused it will have been when he was mucking about on the lunge when the ground was really hard and uneven. (have posted previous threads about this).
Just over 2 weeks ago when he still wasn't better got the vet out and they put him on 2 sachets of danolin a day and boxrest (we are now on day 16).
When he was on danolin he was walking much better (was allowed to move him out of stable and tye up outside) but now he is off it he is lame again, so it seems that the boxrest hasn't done anything to help and this is really worrying me. The vet is due to come out again on Monday, and depending on what she says, he will go to horsey hospital for a full workup.
I am so worried about him and so disappointed.......before I broke my wrist we were both beginning to make real progress together - had started hunting, was working in an outline (big achievement), jumping was improving, and this was meant to be the year when we started to go out to local shows together.
I know that compared to what some people do this doesn't sound much but it had taken a while to get our partnership to this stage, and I guess I am just feeling so sad

Sorry for the moan and biccies for all those who got to the end......
