Just seen a vid of me...

Think I tried that one at Blair - galloping past the fences so quickly that I'd hoped the fences judges didn't realised I hadn't jumped them. It doesn't work! Eagle eyes those lot

a friend of mine watched a certain top rider miss an arrowhead, gallop straight past it and keep going... she wasn't given any penalties.

I have to say, when you're fence judging and something like that happens you tend to disbelieve your own eyes and presume that it has been jumped. Especially if the rider doesn't show any signs of reaslising/acknowledging that they've made a mistake.

Same if you're dressage judging and someone goes wrong, but with absolute conviction. It can take a second to twig what's happened and the immediate response is to think that it's you (the judge) who is wrong, not the rider.

Does this mean I snore and eat too much chocolate?

No, it's me that snores and eats too much chocolate so I didn't need any competition from Kerilli.
blush.gif

Provided you are qualified, and you are, the only time your record would come into it is if there were competition for places which I very much doubt there will be (unless word gets out about the HHO convoy and we are overrun with Baydale and HH groupies
shocked.gif
) Your record looks fine in any case - they basically want to make sure that look to be safe xc and you are not going to embarrass BE in any way (and we are more likely to do that in the bar n'est ce pas?)

The FEI passport is good for 5 years, then you pay the same again to send it back for someone to cross-out the expiry date and write a new one in
mad.gif
mad.gif
Getting the passport sorted takes some time as you have to apply, get the passport, get your vet to come and fill his bits in (have to copy over all vaccs etc), then send it back again to get it stamped and approved. So leave plenty of time for this, but equallly wait till you know you are def going as you won't need it till 2* in this country so don't want to waste casah uneccessarily
wink.gif

To apply to go abroad there's a form you can download to fill in and send to BE. It's all very easy, but has to be done well in advance - about 6 weeks iirc, the date you need to get the form in by will be on the overseas calendar on the website(although often you can slot in later if you need to). They charge a small handling fee of about £15. You also need you and pony to be FEI registered, £15 each this year I think. Forms from BE again.

Im confused.
Can I have the dates I need to have for this/these trips abroad please?

There is muchus planning to be done... Im hitting odd bins later and stocking up on M&S Jaffas...

As T_E said earlier, Minderhout looks like 15-17th May as shown on BE Overseas events calendar. However I would be a bit cautious as the FEI are notorious for changing dates, I wouldn't guarantee it till Jan/Feb.

Have pm'ed you the international dates: other options are Arville or Jardy.

me too, lots of events with lots of options depending on outcomes, will have to run all these days off past my Boss at some point. I am the only member of staff that has taken their full holiday entitlment this year (plus 3 extra days!)

Could we get funding by selling this as a reality program, do you think? "Last Eventer Standing" or "Help, I'm An Eventer, Get Me Out of Here!"

I'm sure there's be a market but not sure how much of the footage would be broadcastable on a family channel
wink.gif

Horse & Country seem to struggle for quality programmes

shocked.gif
- and I'm sure everyone's sick of Team Fredericks for the tenth time - so maybe they'd be interested?

We could make two "targeted" versions. One to H&C (to be sandwiched in between Team Fredricks and the Monty Roberts thing), one to the less, um, respectable channels along a more "Eventers Gone Wild" line. And then we could have a blooper program, and a "making of" instalment, and a "director's cut with additional footage", maybe an educational take off with "how to do it" and "how not to do it" segments . . . I smell a marketable brand!

laugh.gif

At the very least we'd have money for t-shirts. And gin.
smile.gif

I'm just worried that with Humungahorse and Carthorse in the wagon there might be restricted room for vital liquid supplies
crazy.gif

I'm up for the TV fame and fortune bit, but I want my share of the royalties (I bet most of mine come from the 'out-takes show'...).

Good on you TarrSteps, working out ways to fund our road trip.
grin.gif
My out-takes will be the rude words uttered either when HH winds me up (frequently) or when we run out of gin (seems to happen quite often

).

There's a sale on Bombay Sapphire at my regular shop right now, perhaps I should do a bulk buy?

Oooh, hang on, we could hit them up for sponsorship! C'mon, if we found someone there with a sense of humour I bet we could get it done. We'd likely have to wear lots of pale blue but it would be worth it. Besides, considering how much of my money they've got over the years I think I'm owed something by now . . .

Then they could fund the program, with some oh so casual product placement and perhaps a giant bottle painted on the side of the lorry!

Oi, nowt wrong with my map-reading
mad.gif
We got to SL with over an hour to spare before norse even had to have a sniff of a dressage test
grin.gif

Oh and I absolutely love tack cleaning so that can be a job for the way over
grin.gif

And to think I was oh so close to a job with Bacardi Martini (who own Bombay Sapphire) a few years ago, but had to accept a job offered to me before BM made their minds up
smirk.gif
. On the other hand met my hubby at job I accepted so guess I can't be too disappointed. Btw, just in case anyone has a vague recollection of what started this thread I'm about to upload the vid
tongue.gif

I think it could work TS - we ate so much Soreen that one year we got the uni mountaineering club sponsored by them! They sent us a box of (very large, very yellow) t-shirts, and more importantly a box of malt loaf! Yum!!

I am even more jealous now the trip is being fuelled by gin, gin slings are my favourite (with mojitos being a close second). Perhaps I could syndicate to the US market for you then come on the next foreign adventure?
