JUST TO MAKE THINGS QUITE CLEAR,,,

As other have said I can't belive you have to justify yourself.

You do what it right by the animal at the end of the day.

As Gonetofrance says
Don't let the barstewards get you down......

And I second what Mrs Mozart says

Completely support you too JM, think you do a fab job as everyone else has said.

Too many people are selfish in their feelings about the animal and think keeping it alive when really it has no quality of life is an ok thing to do.

Go and tell them to take a running jump, preferably off of somewhere high.

JM you know you have my utmost support and respect so i shall say no more on that.

As someone who has known JM for a number of years and regularly visits her yard I can assure any tofu knitting bunny huggers who might have the stamina or intellect to read this thread to this point that maybe they should enter the real world. See just how appalingly badly some of these little scraps have had it before JM takes them on.

The transformations, care and time taken and genuine respect for them is huge at the JMs and I would be happy for her to have any horse of mine AND make the right decision if the time came.

If you want to have a go then pack in the PMs and be brave enough to speak in public, if not, crawl back under your sackcloth.

WELL, THANK YOU everyone!

i certainly didnt want to turn this into a "big up JM" thread..or start a forum fanclub!!

the pony in question, that went off this week, was taken by myself, into the slaughter hall, given a polo, and dispatched.
i witnessed it, as i do all ponies i take there..i owe them that.

i know EXACTLY what happens to them from there on in..having watched the whole process..

i even saw the start of this little guy being processed on wednesday.
things of this nature do not affect/bother me...i call it the Circle of Life.

i have taken other peoples horses/ponies to the Abattoir..i feel priviliged that they entrust me with their animals...they know i will be with them right til the end.

All horses/ponies DESERVE a decent life...which they get with me

but more importantly a DIGNIFIED and Swift Death.

Thank You ALL once again.

i know i'm not everyone's cup of tea on here, and obviously what i do doesn't sit comfortably with some, but i shall carry on with my way of doing things and hopefully carry on collect Rag-Tags and starting them off on a new adventure.

I BUY AND SELL PONIES.
SOME ARE SCRAPPY BITS OF RUBBISH, TBH.

I know, we often see the rubbish in the picture gallery that you have palmed off on poor unsuspecting HHO'ers.

Haven't read the thread that kicked this off, but IMO if someone has to PM stuff like that it is because they don't have the courage of their conviction to post it. If it keeps on name and post their PM's.

JM, I've never met you, never seen your horses and ponies, but have seen a few of your posts on here and you come across as having a sound knowledge of equines and a genuine love of them.

For some people a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, and there are many people in the equine world like that, you are not one of them!

[/ QUOTE ]

I second that.

Ignore the silly people!

I dont post a huge amount on here, but from the posts I have read I think whoever is sending you nasty PM's should go get a life. Any horse in your care would be lucky IMHO, and surely a swift, painless end is better than keeping them suffering for years!?! Keep doing what you are doing with a smile on your face, and ignore the people who wish to make everyone elses business theirs!!

yeah, id agree with all that. You defo know more than me. But you aint half a stropy cow with it

what you do is shocking to some people

What is shocking about buying and selling ponies?

[/ QUOTE ]

Taking ponies to the abattoir is shocking to some people, especially if there were an alternative option of expensive treatment. Usually people to whom their ponies are total pets and are not required to either serve a purpose or be sellable for a profit.

[/ QUOTE ]

But as I understood/remembers it, the best option for this pony was between one, a few days kept as comfortable and happy as possible and then the abattoir OR one, a few days on Bute and then euthanasia. That's not what I would call an alternative option of expensive treatment?

Either way, I do find it sad that some people feel they have the right to write such PMs. If it wasn't for that I'm sure whatever pony it could be in the future wouldn't deserve that faith, I would wish you did as somebody suggested and ask for their address so you can deliver the next one to them.

Keep up the good work JM07.

Sending unpleasant PMs because you disagree with somebodys actions sounds like bullying to me. Well JM, they picked the wrong one with you, didn't they? Not brave enough to post it on the forum, they have to resort to private emails. Pathetic behaviour from adults if you ask me.

Bugger all the tree huggers, some of us have no choice but to live in the real world, like it or not.

Onwards and upwards m'dear!!!

The "Circle of Life" goes on....i have 2 new little guy's in-situ in the barn as we speak.....

life goes on...................................

Well, I am one of the few who can speak with "real life" knowledge of how you "do things". Having met you, bought a pony from you that was once a scrap of a pony that no one would've given a chance, and later visiting your yard on spec (we were on holiday) and seeing all of your horses up close, I can vouch that they were all well looked after, healthy, happy and above all cared for properly.

I have seen horses cared for far less than yours, by people who weren't trying to make a small living from them...namely every day one horse owners.

You had Oliver for almost two years, I believe (memory might not serve me correctly).

What "dealer" keeps a pony for 2 years and makes a profit? I'd say none.....you included! You're certainly not in it for the money.
grin.gif

If you can help them, you will. If you can't (and firmly believe that no one else will be able to either), you will do the honourable thing and remove them from circulation to stop endless other people facing disappointment, heartbreak and financial loss at buying "a bad egg".

Wish more dealers were the same. I'd not have wasted all that money buying my dun if those that had owned him before me hadn't kept selling him on!

Oh dear... the bunny huggers have come out to play have they????? Ignore them JM they have NO idea what goes on beyond their rose tinted spectacles.
And i'm going to put another slant on this and put forward the idea that there is jealousy involved.....JM is out there in the field doing the job of clearing up the rags and scrags, and making quite a name for herself on here, this maybe something this nasty, spiteful individual can only dream of, due to not having the money, space, time knowledge etc.......food for thought eh??

JM keep up the good work!!
