Katie Price...Silicone poisoning hits her hard!

I've read this post with interest and will put my bit in.....my POV is that she is totally self made (pardon the pun!), she is an astute business woman, if she can make money out of male idiots who want to gawp then fair play is what I say!!

She isnt from a rich background, she made all her own money, she doesnt scrimp from benefits, why do people have such a problem with her?

She has made range of items whether you want to buy them or not, very clever marketing....as always!

If you dont like her dont watch or buy her, but green eyed monsters spring to mind for those that have issues lol!!

Why can't people live and let live, how any one can actually call her 'crude and vulgar' which they have throughout this post, is beyond me, show me some good for nothing, druggie, alcoholic waster cliaming benefits left right and centre for loads of kids they most likely couldn't/can't care for and I would understand the use of such adjectives, you know what, people who make the commets like that about her are the snobs and deserve to be so called.

It would do you a favour to remember, she pays her taxes, earns her living, looks after her kids and can afford to do so without scrounging off the governement, surely these days praise should be received for that alone.

So what if she enhanced her 'assests', did she kill anyone, hurt anyone, do anyone wrong by it, no!! thats how she chose to make her money in the 1st place, a bit of topless/glamour modelling she was not a bloody porn star. And now she is moving on with her career, she is a horse lover and trying to inject something new into our stuffy image, who cares if she has a pink body protector in the range, don't like it? don't buy it, simple! And may I add, there are several top riders who ride in pink, Georgie Spence?! Julie Tew in lilac, to name but a few.

And finally before I get anymore wound up by these ridiculous posts, has anyone actually considered what Derby House might be getting out of the deal.....further income to boost their company, in times like these if her stuff is selling then I couldn't be more happier, BE struggle for sponsors and Derby House sponsor the pony eventing series, perhaps if Derby House had to withdraw their sponsorship because their sales and profits were down BE wouldn't be able to support and nurture these young riders that may one day end up at the top of the sport.

So, look beyond the end of your noses and you might start to see sense in the fact that she does not deserve the stick she is getting off some of you quite frankly horrible individuals on this forum.

Hi Milz88,

I hope i've never come across as 'horrible' (leaving what i say to my OH + what he says back aside!!).

But, like, all folk who choose to be in the public eye, Jordan/Katie Price must be well-used to criticism + mickey-taking, especially as she's now changed careers. I suspect she's tough enough to take it, and her marketing skills will learn from it, or she wouldn't be enjoying her successes today (which includes a load of forum friends' time on here! Another good marketing ploy!). So yes, good for her, in that aspect.

On the other hand, I personally would much rather see our younger riders (I suspect this is where the market is aimed) spend their money on training with good trainers, or, if they really need a 'name' for their gear, well why not buy Lucinda Green, Mark Todd, Whitaker, etc? Folk who we can look up to as great achievers in the equine world, and who hopefully only put their name to companies providing a good quality product.

What do i wear? Toggi, Pikeur, Caldene, Harry Hall, + they're all great! I can afford them, + they last me for years (but sadly, i can't find a pink thing anywhere!! Joy of joys, my horse is chestnut!!)

Let's please all move on now to important things, like lightening up, let's enjoy our riding + our horses, + concentrate our energies there? All bests, + keep thinking! BS x

I'm not a critic nor a fan of Katie Price. She enjoyed horses before she was famous, and used her money she made to and another element (she didn't change anything) to horses and horseriding. It's good. She said (shockingly I remember this) "If I encourage one little girl to take up horseriding then thats a success" Or something along those lines.

IMHO she hasn't done anything wrong, and we shouldn't criticise her for being successful because it's miserable. Makes us look bitter and jealous. And I nearly bought one of those pink headcollars when they came out. For my very macho gelding. So shoot me!!!

Sorry, but I have to come in the "I think she's awful" camp. And it's not jealousy, it's not that she's bought her way in (lots of city types do too), it's not even her awful looks (nobody needs that amount of maekup, not to mention plastic surgery and I think she's a terrible role model for young girls).

What gets me is that she doesn't understand when to SHUT HER GOB. I think it's good that she launched her own range of gear, and even though I think it's hideous, lots of people love it and fair play to them. No, what gets me is that she then has to HAVE A GO at traditional attire! WTF? Can't she just accept that there is room for all kinds of different looks? That wearing "lipstick pink" in the hunting field might not be the best idea?

She doesn't know when to keep her thoughts to herself and just stop putting people's backs up. And I don't find that empowering, it's just ignorant and stupid. I don't think she deserves to make money for making herself into a ridiculous-looking spectacle, an orange-faced parody of the female form and NOT anything I'd ever want a daughter of mine to aspire to look like.

As mentioned above, sadly we are ALL being subjected to the KP juggernaut, so we can't really avoid her - believe me, I hate to see her Tangoed mug on there, clutching a horse to a giant, fake bosom while wearing velour shorts and high heels (as you do).

I don't see how she's good for the sport, not one bit. Sorry!

um I don't think she was necessarily 'having a go' as you put it, simply stating her opinion about all the mainstream equestrian clothing we have at the moment, why is everyone so sensitive and defensive about our 'traditional attire' some of it IS drab, get over it. And secondly, i'm quite sure buyers of her range do not really intend to wear such items in the hunting field!

"She doesn't know when to keep her thoughts to herself and just stop putting people's backs up. "

She hasn't put my back up

well thats subjective, and your opinion about her looks, fair enough, so you don't want her to make her own money however she may choose to do so (own equestrian brand etc etc), i'm sure you'd be just as quick to moan if she WASN'T making her own money and on benefits left, right and centre.

I don't see how she's good for the sport, not one bit. Sorry!

well whether you like it or not, she probably is doing good for the sport, read my post above about Derby House and pony eventing series with BE, if some pepole would just look outside of the box and beyond the end of their noses, they'd see quite a different side to things!!!

i was reading today in a magazine that at the british open show she was horrible to Amy Guy..who said kp was the rudest woman she has ever met lol...wonder what that was all about.

I don;t think there's a problem getting them to start riding, but it's keeping them doing it.

Hi again friends,

Maybe i should put it a little stronger this time - like why don't we spend more of our time concentrating on riding + improving ourselves, rather than reading the media stuff (+ i personally make no apologies for not reading it!)

Life's for living, not for reading tabloid stuff! Live + let live, + let's live our own lives, + encourage the next generation to have high standards. Bests, BS
